to regular users with their kitty and blurry shots taken with their phones, it may not be that big of a deal.
however for photographers who uses it as a media for sharing/promoting their work, it's quiet a blow and lots are leaving.

Yeah its going to be a huge stampede of people leaving, just like all those that said they were going to quit facebook over privacy concerns.

I think they just worded the ToS to be as general and broad as possible. Nothing is free nowadays, you either pay for a service with $ or userdata.

I don't get the big concern over the monetization of a free service, everyone builds applications to make money not to be free. The only thing I do not agree with is the new privacy issues that the ToS have now allowed for. I do not agree with the clauses allowing for the sharing of information.

Interesting thing, had lunch with a few coworkers of mine at the Devonian Gardens an hour ago, and there's a Global News reporter going around asking people if they use Instagram and asking for interviews, etc.

Didn't have time and don't really use Instagram other than for a few dumb pics here so obviously declined the offer.

Anyone else run into the guy?

How exactly can someone intelligent be mad at Instagram? Its not like users are paying for their service.

the problem here is that instagram takes 100% of the cut from profits if they succesfully sell a picture.
there's lot of photographers and organization that uploads their DSLR picture on instagram
it's not a big issue for regular users taking pictures of their food, pet, toy, etc but artists are getting screwed in general.

??? I agree with what they are trying to do with using pictures for ads but I dont agree with the clause where they allow the sharing of your information, usually that is not the norm.
