    Default Blackvue Dashcam Install

Does anyone know a good place to get my dashcam installed? It just landed in Calgary this morning so I want to make arrangements to get it put in.

I talked to Autotemp and they basically said its the same as a radar detector hard-wire install and quoted me about 110.... I think thats a bit much!!!

Anyone know of a good place? or anybody on here confident enough in their ability to do it?

    Thank you!

This is your second thread on the same topic.

You bought a brand new car, do yourself and everyone else a favor and spend the 100$ and get it properly installed.

    Don't be cheap.

If I had a brand new car I would rather pay 200$ for a proper install then 50$ for some highschool kid to pry at my interior.

Your next thread will be complaining that you got scratches all over your interior.

Completely agree with you, don't worry. I want it done properly.

Thing is, I have read other threads on here about autotech (Joe) being a great place... back in the day he did an audio install on my car and it was beyond awful. No attention to detail, panels marked up, clips broken, it was just bad.

So I guess the question now is.... does anyone have experience with autotemp?

What kind of car is it? Just hook it up to your overhead console (lights/sunroof console)

Yes, that's what someone had said in my original thread (asking how to install it). I have zero talent with electrical wiring/taking apart panels/assemblies on the interior of a car.... so I just wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.

I think I will go with autotemp.

I will update this in case someone comes asking one day...

I ended up cancelling the install and just running the normal wire myself. I basically just tucked all the wire. Went from top of windshield, down a-pillar, and down under glove box. It all tucked quite nicely in gaps between the wind shield and the interior trim. If I ever don't want it to record I will just pull the 12v adapter. Easy.

Cam seems to work pretty well. Quite happy with it.
