I started a creative agency a few years back specializing in creating media assets for whisky distilleries. https://www.frombarreltobottle.ca/

Awesome. Great idea!!! A lot of people in my Whisky Club have been wanting to find a way to break into the whisky industry - looks like you've figured it out! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Let me know if you have any questions, I can do my best to help out. Have been working direct with the distilleries, with marketing teams, distributors, and agencies, happy to help where I can.
Nice job on the promo, Erik and team! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Thanks buddy, pretty exciting project to be a part of, love getting a chance to work with Springbank!
A few of the images we shot for them
Nice work, Eride!
Does anyone here have any experience in buying a cask? I've been dealing with some dealers in the UK and have a decent feel for what their side of things looks like, but wondering if there are any (yet unknown) obstacles or pitfalls from the perspective of purchasing from Canada?
So cool!
Very nice work ERIDE!
Also, do you get to keep the scotch you are shooting?
Usually I do yes! I had to send back the Bowmore Arc52 and Gordon and MacPhail 80yr though, although they did send me samples to try
wow so you got to keep this 27yo SB?!This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sweet - next time I'm in Calgary maybe I can buy you a pint (or dram) as I'd be curious to hear about it all. There's a gal in my group living in Ireland that's make a big push to get into the industry on the marketing front and, although Whisky hasn't caught on in Spain as much as Gin, I feel like I could still maybe find a niche here. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Our club bought a cask of Linkwood (to bottle) and I've bought a Glen Elgin (likely investment but perhaps to bottle) through Braeburn. One of the things is that from an investment perspective is that whisky is not subject to Capital Gains in the UK so I actually purchased through a friend there (he took a 5% interest)...
I heard of a Canadian who managed to buy a cask through Glen Breton I believe as well but not sure of the process / taxes there.
Likely both. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The ideal plan would be to bottle a (small) portion to commemorate certain milestones, birthdays, etc... The buying, storage, etc is pretty straightforward, though a lot of information online is specific to the UK when it comes to bottling, so I'm more curious about any pitfalls - or tricks - when it comes to actually importing to Canada. Our club bought a cask of Linkwood (to bottle) and I've bought a Glen Elgin (likely investment but perhaps to bottle) through Braeburn. I do, going to crack it in the next week or so here and see what the fuss is about. They also sent a couple cool cage bottles too, a 15yr single cask at 57% and a Society Exclusive sherry bomb... so damn good! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Enjoy! That sounds amazing

Come grab some samples sometime Matt, happy to share!
We should have a little scotch whisky gathering lol
Can't help with import to Canada but for bottling I believe there's usually a fixed fee plus bottle cost for bottling so right away your unit costs are going to be high. Plus, I'd assume you're unlikely to get the same price per liter for a half cask as a full one but I guess it all depends on what they can broker for you. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. If you're not set on Scotch, perhaps it would be cheaper/easier to speak with a Canadian distiller and see if they could do a special batch run of something for you using custom labels? I haven't heard of it being done yet but it seems like a potentially sweet niche.
Just buy a bunch now and store it in San Pellegrino bottles. You can write whatever you want on the labels.
