¥5,100. Seemed like a good deal relative to buying a bottle! Honestly, not worth buying a whole bottle but glad I got to try it. Explosive flavour profile but very short-lived.

That's a really good deal!! if that's 1oz, that's cheaper than a full bottle equivalent by quite a bit. I bet this probably costs 4-7x in Vegas lol
This was the biggest whiskey collection I've ever seen in my life, essentially a museum. The prices were even more elevated than anywhere else as well. $2,000 for Hibiki 21 LOL. You know it was gonna hurt when they don't really list prices on anything.

That is insane, would love to spend some time in there!
Calgary duty free? If so nothing interesting there for bourbon. All I ever see is Makers, JD, and Wild Turkey. Usually they aren't even a special travelers edition.
I was just checking out the Calgary Duty Free a few days ago. Nothing of interests and more expensive than what you would find locally.
He should check out and see if there's any good bourbon he wants online at Zyn, Craft, or BSW, and you pick it up for him. KWM has a sale this weekend but not sure about their bourbon selection.
BSW on McKnight has a good bourbon section

I like Eagle Rare, or Buffalo Trace of you want a bit cheaper.

Eagle Rare is good but extremely difficult to find at retail, as in it sells out in minutes.
My recommendation would be this:

Wild Turkey Rare Breed was good.
BSW is one of the places i've gotten eagle rare for retail. Just give the counter guy your number and ask them to call you when they get another case in stock. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Me too, but was via email notification and instantly purchasing. Either method, it doesn't come up very often from my experience which is too bad because it's nice. Most bourbons I honestly find taste the same unless they're heavily charred or aged 8+ years. But this discussion is better suited for the Bourbon Thread.

Any good Irish recommendations for ~$50-60?
Writer's Tears immediately comes to mind in that price range.

I really like bushmills. Haven't tried the "10" but assume it's excellent. The regular and black are nicer than the price point would suggest.

^ Yea, I'm a big fan of Blackbush and the 10Y for the price point.
The new bottling style is sick too.
I wonder if the Bushmill 12 is good? It's on sale and only a few bucks more than the 10.
