I haven't tried two of those bottles, but I 100% agree on the Hazelburn. I tried hard to like that bottle. Gave it multiple opportunities both solo and with friends and it was a disappointment in every regard. I will not be buying another one.

    Willow Park Sale this week.

Seems like a good variety. Pricing is Ok I guess. Depends on what you are looking for.

Craft Cellars and solid deal in the same sentence. This is rare. That regular price is inflated compared to some other stores though.

Is it? Seems to be within $5 of everyone else.

Either way, I was curious how their core offerings stack up against the KWM Whiskey Sponge Craigellachie they have (which is fantastic btw).

I've found plenty of decent deals at Craft over the years. Just never buy anything at regular price, cause as you mentioned, their regular price is consistently higher than basically everywhere else.

They have their 15-20% sales pretty often though. feel like at least once a month.

Does anyone want a bottle of Glendronach 29? $1400 is not a soft touch but I got a line on a couple bottles.

Would be an amazing scotch and likely older than 29 years too.

A 40 year old scotch for my 40th bday sounds nice. Too bad it's several thousands and I'll still be poor by then.

I did this for my 40th with the Glenfarclas 40 year old. It was under 1k 5 years ago when I purchased it. Just checked now and it's $1458. WTF

I have a future 40yr for that occasion… birth year tomatin. Ones that were bottled years back just aren’t the same as a true 40yr bottle, but we will see where prices are and where life is at when the day comes

You can always get the 50 mil Glenfarclas 40 for $130 and open it for yourself on the birthday https://kensingtonwinemarket.com/pro...s-40-year-50ml

At least that's my plan anyway. It's probably easier to find a birth year bottle than a 40yo bottle (price wise). I've been eyeing the Bruchladdich 1984 Rare Cask series that was released a few years ago for ~ $1300. Sounds alright as the Big 4-0 bottle to open.

A 20yr bottle will always be a 20yr bottle, regardless of how long you leave it in your cupboard for. It's not that it isn't a "true 40yr bottle", it's just not a 40yr bottle
