I don't think i've tried the 3 wood, but I've had Auchentoshan's regular 12yr and did not like it at all. Probably my least favorite bottle I'd ever bought.

That Old Pulteney 12yr on the other hand is fantastic, especially at that price.

Yea, same for me. Lots of dry tannins and nothing good from the barrel. I actually prefer the 12.

I often see High West's other products on shelfs locally but have never seen a Midwinter Night’s Dram. Hopefully this release is as good as previous ones.
