After not playing for the first year of my life I'm wanting to either drop in at some decent shinny games or join a team. Anyone know of something decent? I'm 22
sent ya a PM.
Ya that's the plan so far.
I am also interested in playing some shinny hockey. Is there an official shinny hockey thread? I did a quick search and no dice.
I am defiantly rusty, haven’t been on skates much for the past few years (maybe 3 shinny games last season and a couple the season before)

if you can make it to trico at lunch times they have one for shinny the player are usually pretty good but i have seen a couple of newbies on the ice and they seem to enjoy it too

Lunch is pretty much out of the question for me. Pretty much anytime after 6pm on weekdays and anytime weekends.
And if it matters, i am 25 and played from atom all the way to junior and i have full equipment.

Ya there was quite the turn out tonight. Was definatly fun. I was the grey jersey with the white helmet. You know, the one who kept falling all over the ice... haha

How much is open shinny? Usually 10 aside? No goons?
I interested in playing some shinnies, played in some drop in ones in the Summer they were full of junior players looking to keep in shape...not fun for a beginner like myself, are the shinnies during the winter more normal folks?
Best to try to just find a shinny specifically for beginners.Originally posted by Canucks3322

I know a group that plays every Saturday late at Crowfoot. 11:30 for an hour. If u r interested I can pass on info. Sat not best for me so I don't really go.
If anyone is interested, my company has a timeslot at 5:15pm on Saturday evenings at an inner city rink just north of downtown. We used to play after work on Mondays but we got bumped to Saturday now and as a result a lot of the older guys stopped playing. Definitely could use some more bodies out there!
Fairly wide range of skill levels and easy going group.
If anyone is interested, sent me a PM for more info. Drop-in fees are $15/game, but if you sign up for the rest of the year I can give a discount.
Also should mention, most of the time we have two goalies, but they’re all on a “week to week basis” so if any goalies out there are interested in playing, either week to week or on a more permanent basis, let me know and we can work something out. Skill level doesn’t matter, anything is better than a shooter tutor! Goalies play free of course.
It's 8$ . Last few times were like 12 a side. It's no contact. My one friend only has gloves and helmet and can still go. I wear full equipment though.Originally posted by bigbadboss101
