I just called them, and the guy told me that it could ship as soon as tomorrow, they just can’t guaranty and probably trying to cover their ass by sending the email since it will take a bit longer then their 3 - 5 days time frame. They probably have to send this e-mail since they are supposed to follow up/send tracking number within 48 hours

Thats not what the guy said that i just talked too. He couldn't even tell me if the email applied to one order or both.

The funny thing is that people on XDA are reporting that the orders with more than one phone are getting the back order email. It was google play's fault that there was so many multiple orders (server crashes and errors) and now those people with those errors are gettings screwed.

In light of the backorder thing, I hope it fucks over the people selling them on Ebay. It pisses me off that there are hundreds for sale already on there, most going for $400-$500, for the 8gb version....

I will gladly take over your preorder if you are going to otherwise cancel it.

3 weeks is probably better than I'd do on my own, having missed out on launch day.

Actually the guy i talked to, before I even mentioned the email i got,
he said that i should get a tracking number today after 6 or tomorrow.

I doubt you'll see it at any carrier at all. Even if you did they'd bend you over on a contract.

Big news! There is a thread in xda discussing the ifixit tear down and the presence of a LTE chip!

Means nothing. It's probably disabled, there is no LTE antenna, and there is no LTE power amplifier for it, they only found an UMTS one.

They wouldn't have included it since they wanted to hit the $300 mark.

That $300 mark is also due to Google subsidizing the price quite a bit apparently.

All right lets see if I can work through this. I've been reading a lot of FCC documentation and going through some specs of the different chips.

The Qualcomm WTR1605L is a 7 band RF chip supporting three below 1 GHz, three higher bands, and one very high band. So this includes pretty much all bands currently used including the new LTE bands.

The Avago ACPM-7251 is indeed a power amplifier. Supporting Quad Band GSM/EDGE (GSM850/900, DCS1800/PCS1900) and UMTS Dual-Band (Band1 – UMTS & LTE and Band5 UMTS & LTE)

Notice it said LTE a few times in there.

There's some other crap I'm still looking through but the major point I'm getting at is that it looks like that chip isn't just sitting there doing nothing. The FCC doc ( http://apps.fcc.gov/ecfs/document/view?id=7021921420 ) Seems to suggest that the chipset that includes this WTR1605L is a new format they are using to try and futureproof phones from some possible "carrier aggregation" (I'm trying to wrap my head around all this so give me some slack here)
