The natural progression of children allowed the drink soda without first asking.

I'd vote for him. America may have a black guy, but we'd have captain fucking Kirk.

Chicks with really restrictive parents are the best. Back in high school Mormon girls were quite popular because they had the reputation that if they would let you do anything, they would let you do everything.

Now that I'm a parent, I'm concerned that the guys may have been taking advantage of the situation, but back then, the thought process was somewhat less refined.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

For her 18th Bday we asked if she wanted to go out to a bar or something typical a teen would do.

Instead she asked if she could invite friends over to the house. We asked if she would like us to provide some alcoholic beverages, all her friends are of age. She said no thanks, none of her friends drink.

    Hahaha. Winning!

My son is 5, instead of going for cake at a party he went for the vegetable tray. I asked him why, he said sugar isn't good for you.

    Hahaha. Happy Dad.

Don't get me wrong, he enjoys sweet things and we don't enslave our kids, but we definitely provide them the guidance to make smart choices.

I asked my daughter and her friends if they heard of Beyond, they just looked at me with blank faces. Hahaha

I know 4 people who were sheltered in their lives (went to same elementary/jr high/high school(

1 got kicked out of med school for concerns they would do questionable things to to their patients while sedated.
1 quit nursing school because she had twins in her first year (first time having sex too)
1 had a 4.0 GPA through Eng and got 0 job offers for being weird af
1 works at Tesla as a Senior Design Engineer.

Before you pat yourself on the back thinking you are the smartest parent alive, realize sheltering and restraining has it's consequences whether you like to believe so or not

Yeah that's what me and my friends used to tell all our parents as well.

Yeah, cuz most 18 year old girls are interested in cars and 30-something forum demographics.
I bet they've heard of Xvideos and YouPorn though.

    Haters going to hate.

No regrets, happy children, happy family.

To each their own of course.

FYI, wasn't me who named this thread, I'm guessing it was a beyond child.

haha Beyond shows no mercy when it comes to 89coupe lol

IMO while she may seem sheltered, benefit of the doubt, she ain't no dummy. Not with Asian Tiger Mom behind the scenes haha

Should be easy to confirm or deny, she’s 21 now.

Talk about a necro thread bump. Considering she's 20 now, what's the verdict 89coupe?

I think it was bumped cause of the blatant theft thread talking about drinking pop

Necro bumps are fine by me, especially after federal elections because there is literally nothing to talk about - other than separation.
