Default getting out of vivint/apex alarm contract

yes we all know these fools are scammy assholes and offer a shit service for an inflated price.

my stupid fiancee signed a 3 year contract at the old house about a year and a half ago, cause she isnt too bright. pretty much right away their garbage thermostat thing stopped working. we got a hvac guy to come hookup the old one again. never used their stupid system. we moved, they said "oh heeey, we will just hook our garbage up at your new home, or you pay us $1k to F-O"

so with all the horror stories about canceling this garbage service and the lawsuits and everything. umm, no to both options.

so, is there a way out?

i know technically since their shit didnt even work (thermostat) that would void a contract for failure to provide services... but thats going to be messing and involve courts and not worth it for $1k.. if that $1k would even get them to stop collecting (after everything i've read, i doubt it will)

    thoughts?

and if it matters, yes the $1k would be paying out the FULL contract amount.

Can you type out what the termination provision in your contract says? Is there a termination for cause?

I know a good divorce lawyer. You'll only have to pay $500 to the alarm company when your stupid fiance leaves you

I'll go out with her so you don't have to deal with her bad decisions.

It might not help with the alarm contract but you won't have to deal with her decisions.

You should expect no less from beyond lol.

I might have a copy of the contract somewhere but my feeling is that there is no easy way out.

One thing I did read from the contract is that once the contract period is over. The contract automatically renews to a monthly contract not three years. Sorry about your experience, I haven't had one thing to complain about their service over the last three years. They did overcharge me one time and that got rectified with one phone call.

i have yet to deal with another company that had better customer service than Vivint. all their people are VERY polite and helped me quickly any time i had any issue, which was very rare.
