To some, yes it can seem extreme, but I bet any money that this taught the kid not to fuck around and act like a little shit disturber...

In grade 10 I had a gym teacher who caught me with some weed in the bathroom, I pretended to put it in my lip like chew and swallowed before he could get it out of me so I only got a tabacco warning. I was pretty upset about wasting my weed, so when he got a new car I got plates of ketchup from the caf and threw them all over his car. He had an idea it was me but couldnt prove it. In gym we were playing dodge ball and he was going after me extra hard and I got pissed so I went to the store room and grabbed a hand ball. I waited for the perfect opportunity and whipped it at his head, I missed him by what seemed millimeters when he realized what happened and looked at me I took off running. he chased me down the hall, tackled me, straddled me and proceeded to choke me.

I can say I am pretty sure I deserved that, and after the incident learned my lesson. the teacher never got me into trouble, I didn't rat on him and started to respect him a little more. Some times idiots like myself just need to learn lessons the hard way

Just because other things went on in that era does not make it right. That is why we have evolved as a society; women vote now, remember. The time of a mis-deed only changes its perception; for example the slaughter of millions of muslims during the crusades was considered a major positive back then and a scare on humanity today.

In a very similar way it was never right for a teacher to beat a kid, especially a trained boxer. That shows how rudimentary your and his thinking was and is. Beyond is a place where the masses generally consider them selves as stand-up individuals, and for some reason they express that by conveying them selves in a strictly conservative manner and I believe you are suffering from the same ailment.

I probably was out of line for calling him a dead douche canoe, but a that's what he was if he took pride in his beating of a child. For your purposes of point and case you have no idea what I do and how I live my life, I'm rather sure Vengie that I am not a kid and hold a great deal of respect for those who deserve it. I'd love it if i could talk out of my ass online with lack of information also, but fact is fact and you must learn (reading books, cases etc) that you cannot make an argument based on zero fact.

Imo, if you think you can act with impunity without fear of repercussion or punishment, then you should be put into place. It's a simple rule of any society. At least it should be.

Im not someone who believes kids shouldn't be punished, and i agree there is a massive coddling environment these days, I hate that there are sports leagues where they don't keep score and schools where simple games of "tag" aren't allowed.

I just believe that it is the parents right to physically punish their children to a certain extent and NEVER a teachers, especially a teacher that was a bare knuckle boxer - the punishment has to fit the crime, and has to be dealt out by the proper authority.
