I have a pair of Geox dress shoes that look good, doesn't stink, and very comfy. Would recommend.
They're not incredibly cheap, but well worth it IMO.

Although a bit late, O'Connors downtown is closing and has some great deals. Majority of the shoes are on for $179 and you get 20% off that if you buy 3 or more pairs.
I think just a few weeks left..
Oh damn I could use some brogues

That sale has been going on for nearly a month now, are they still bringing in new shoes? Last time i was there it was pretty picked over, particularly anything in brown. Some nice shoes, but with the limited selection and sizes it was a bit of a treasure hunt.

No idea if they are bringing in more or not... but they did say there is only a few weeks left. Not a ton of stock, but I picked up one I liked.

That's the O Connors near the train tracks, right?

Hopefully they got some 8E left.

20% off $179 is still more than what I am willing to pay to look respectable.
Longevity is a thing when paying more for the types of shoes they have at O'Connors. As someone who was cheap as fuck for most of my life dress shoes are now one of the things I'll happily spend more on now. Most runners are created equal but dress shoes definitely are not. I used to run through two pairs of Aldo dress shoes every six months at $100 a pop. They would get wet in the winter because the sole separated from the last. They would have really bad creasing shortly after I bought them. Laces would snap. It was always something.

I have a couple pairs of Allen Edmonds and with the occasional leather care routine they will basically last forever. Shoes in that range can be resole'd as well once you wear through the bottoms. They're going on 5 years old for me now and still look new. Get lot's of compliments on them too. Just food for thought. I get that paying a ton more for shoes isn't for everyone but if you can snag a good deal and pay like $50 more than you normally would for something of quality then you'd be a fool not to in my opinion.

Yeah, if you are blowing through your cheap dress shoes, buying better ones can be a money-saving venture.

I walked by there on the way back from lunch and it still looked like they had quite a lot of shoes in there. But I didn't go in.

    That is all.

I also have wide feet and mainstream footwear are too narrow so I have to go AE or Alden. I'd agree with all this and you can resole at least twice to make it last longer.

I'll stop by next week and see how it goes.

Anyone need me to do some recon? I'm gonna be looking for 8E stuff and see what's left.

I was gonna go in but felt like I was really missing the office as I went by. Though I could use some new shoes so I’ll check early next week too. You’re lucky you’re a 1/2 size off what I need ES!

Me as well, in a perfect world they'd have a brown boot in 11.5/12.
