Default Empty 53' enclosed trailer/semi heading out to Vancouver Island. Looking for cargo.

I have a 53' enclosed semi available for cargo from Calgary to Vancouver Island or a destination en route (i.e. Kamloops, Vancouver). The truck is leaving around December 22 +/- a day or two.

This would be ideal if you want to move some vehicles or move house contents etc.

Price is cheap as Im just looking to fill the truck
    Fuel + $500

Obviously fuel will depend on the weight of the load, but as a rough estimate to move your furniture to Vancouver would probably cost $600-$700 in fuel, so $1200 in total.

I have 50 duffle bags as well as some 50 gallon drums and lastly a body bag I need to transport. Can we come to some kind of agreement?

I would like to establish some control of this by suggesting the following:

    Rule #1: No new deals, when it's a deal, it's a deal
    Rule #2: No names
Rule #3: Don't open the package
Rule #4: Never make a promise you can't keep.

    Calgary --> Vancouver 1,000 km's
    $700 fuel = ~ 130 Gallons. ~ 5 mpg's.

I get around 9 when I'm pulling a 6,000 lb trailer with my SUV

Key word being 'SEMI' here gents. These are also known as tractor trailer units. I don't think he is referring to a regular pick up load.

It sounds like a very reasonable price. Considering your getting a 53' trailer to load.

Exactly. This is what you'd call Deadheading.

Yup a tractor trailer, probably half the price of using a company. I think uhaul charges at least 1000 just for truck rental.

    Well OP's post appears contradictory:

Then don't use his service seems like a great deal.

You could fit a couple cars in there, might be able to find a load on one of the shipping websites, assuming you are insured to haul. There are a bunch of brokerages that can help you find cargo.

Nothing contradictory about it. He is saying his price is cheap BECAUSE he wants to fill his truck.

So his time or the costs to operate/maintain his vehicle are of no value then?

Well, he is going out there anyways, lol. It's still a great deal if someone needs that much space though. Not worth it for just one car or something though.

Of course I could be way off base here, but my understanding of the OP's original post is that one car was not what he was suggesting.

NVM.. I read it as he wants to fill the fuel tank of his truck i.e. wanted someone to cover his fuel costs going out. My bad.

Just to clear up some confusion, I won't be making any money on this trip, the $500 is to help cover the rental of the tractor trailer. My friend who drives truck for a living, will be driving the truck and trailer out for free. The truck and trailer and contents of the trailer are all insured. Nothing shady going on here, if you can fill a 53' tractor trailer, this is probably less than half what it would cost to hire a trucking company. I would guess you could fit at least three cars inside the trailer

GTS4 - where would I find these brokerage companies?
