Clunking Noise

I have a 2002 WRX with almost 205,000 KM on it. It still runs like a top but lately I've been noticing a kind of clunking noise coming from the rear while I'm driving at lower speeds or backing up....etc.

I used to have a few things loose in my trunk like glass cleaner and the like but I removed everything from my trunk and the sound remains. Sometimes it's pretty loud and other times not so much. When I drive at higher speeds it's almost non existent.

Wondering what this might be. Bad rear brakes? Leaking rear struts?

Does it come when you go over bumps or cracks in the roads etc?

Not so much when I go over bumps in the road and is virtually non existent when I'm at higher speeds.

After driving around a bit today at lunch I'm wondering if it's something to do with my rear diff or if it is a brake related issue. Almost sounds like something is loose. When I do accelerate from a stop it does seem more pronounced.

I have the same problem in my tsx. I thought it was the rear swaybar linkage so i changed that and the noise came back 2 days later. Mine only happens when im at lower speeds and occasionally at higher speeds, or hitting small cracks and bumps. Noise dissappears at night though when its cold. Checked coilovers and they look normal to me.Still cant figure it out
