Signed up at Virgin kiosk at Marlborough Mall today. $40 a month for 4gb data, with unlimited calls and texts within Canada, rather than just province wide like Fido.

For unlimited Canada wide calling that's a killer deal^^
Thought it was just province wide though like Fido and PM
That's what it says on the Virgin site, when I went to the kiosk they said it was a special they were doing to compete with the other places doing the $40 plans right now. Some kind of unadvertised special on top of the current deal.Originally posted by J.M.

If anyone on Wind is thinking of switching, do it. I've gone from ~10Mbps download to 50-65Mbps. Also went from almost no reception anywhere in Chinook to full reception even down in the lower level parkade.
I'm up for renew next month.....current plan
Carrier- Fido
Plan:
$67 month
Unlimited calling through Canada, anytime
2 GB
voicemail
unlimited texting, including USA
* New iphone subsidised every couple years * Usually cost about $300, though last time was free
I'm probably going to stay with my current plan, but considering options
Honda/Acura guy
I'm gonna hit up a Fido Kiosk to see if I can switch over lol $40 is just too good of a deal to not hit

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
You should hit up a Virgin one doing the Canada wide instead of Alberta wide for the same price.Originally posted by max_boost

Are you sure it's Canada wide with Virgin? I signed up last night, and it was still "Alberta" only... Everybody, Public mobile, and Fido are Province wide only, so I can't see Virgin giving a better offer cuz they want to be nice. (however if I am wrong, I will gladly call asking for the Canada wide)

Does anyone know if the virgin plan allows you to use roam sweet roam? I know the fido one doesn't and that's the only thing holding me back. But if virgin allows it then I'm definitely jumping ship
I read on Red flag deals some guy apparently got it added to his account, the roam sweet roam, by texting a short code roam to "4800"

I am currently paying $65 ($5 off promo for the year) then it will be going back up to $70 - 6GB, unlimited Canada wide calls and text - do you guys think its worth the switch to the $40 plan with Fido? I would also have to pay ~$315 for subsidized phone.
Was able to go on Virgin chat and get Canada-wide calling added for free of charge

^ how did you get that extra 2GB for $5/mo? also does anyone know if virgin offers data top ups? i.e. if you are close to your 4gb, can you pay $15 for an extra gig?
It was a loyalty add-on promo from a previous plan they were able to let me keep. You might be able to get it still if u call in and ask or use the chat.

Hows reception/data speed with Virgin? Whose towers do they use?
Also what is a "Mo" of data from that screenshot?
I'm pretty sure they're under Bell.Originally posted by Mitsu3000gt

I've never had any issues with them in the last 4 years I've been with them. They are owned by Bell so Bell and Telus towers I assume.
I think that's a typo, should be $5/100Mb
So you got this plan while being an existing virgin customer???Originally posted by heinz256
