Smoking deal, just helped my parents port from Rogers last night. Awesome signal and max LTE speeds. Think WIND pricing but on Telus's network!

    https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/ab

    4gb
    Unlimited province talk
    Unlimited international text
    Caller ID and basic Voicemail

$38/mth (have to pay in 3 month blocks in advance, and sign up for autopay)

    Pros
    Cheap
    Telus's network

    Cons
All self-serve! No stores, no call centers. You do everything on your own from ordering to porting. Only support is on their forum.

Forgive me if this has been hashed already....(I didn't read the first 4 pages)
Has anyone here taken advantage of Koodo's Manitoba plan of unlimited text/pics/nationwide calling and 5 Gb's of data for $48/month?

I've talked to a few who have done this. Takes a bit of fanagling but apparently it's working. He has an Alberta number too.

I've been paying $113/month with Bell for Unlimited text/pic/nationwide calling and 4 Gb's of data. I got them to give me 1,000 minutes, unlimited txts/pics/ and 3 gigs for $70/month.

I tried to get the koodo Manitoba plan a couple months ago but no one was biting. Haven't tried since.

I'm surprised you guys paying over $40/month are not jumping all over the Public Mobile plan...

Signed up for the Koodo plan a weekish ago. Guy set me up with the Manitoba plan and number for all three of our lines. All I had to do is port my numbers in when I got home.

Shoot me a pm and I'll let you know where I got it done.

Main reason why I bumped this... Why bother with the Koodo hassle when you can you can have Public running in 2 days (they even overnight the SIM to you!).

It really is TELUS ever since they bought them out. Even TELUS and Koodo locked phones work as is. Still time left, promo ends Nov 20.

From what I've researched, in order to get that $48 package, it's only available to Manitoba residents. So you need to first sign up with a Manitoba number (AND address) ...then you go home and login into the self serve website with your account and subsequently port your 403 number into your account

And I think, IIRC, that now they want you to get a new phone which is only $15/month on top of the $48 package...still the best deal around though.

But I don't now for sure...I could be way off with my research.

^^ that was/is the way to do it but so many reps are already aware of it, no one will do it for you anymore.
If I wasn't on the $48/month sask plan I would definitely move to public mobile. Only difference is nationwide vs province wide calling and 5gb vs 4gb. Still a hell of a deal though for people who want to do it legit and hassle free.
