Virgin mobile has the tendency to raise promo plan prices. Last BF they had a $34 2GB plan and they raised the cost by $5 after a few months. They don't grandfather

Fido and Koodo did not ever raise their prices for the same plan!

Also with virgin, it is 4gb/month. With public it is 12gb/3 months, you can use 2gb in 1 month, 6gb next, etc.

You also get $2/mo discount with public for autopay and $1/mo for each referral, $1/mo loyalty after 1 year ($2/mo after 2 years and so on)

If you want to stay with fido, they now have a new $40 plan available from today which matches Public/Virgin.

Unlimited province talk/global sms/4gb data for $40

I spent a few hours yesterday evening back and forth with Telus in regards to this.

Price matching PM is a pipe dream with them, as it is self serve (fully understand). Best offer they came back with is;

$61 month
- unlimited anytime nation wide calling
- unlimited messaging
- 2gb data (I have only once used more than this) but with a discount on overage "buckets"
- calling features (VM,CD, ect)

Still not as low as I would have liked compered to others here, but they also offered further discount on my Optik services, so a pretty decent savings versus what I was paying, so I guess it was a win overall
