Magic: The gathering

Yeah, I'm going there. I can't be the only person on this forum who plays. It's a fun game and hobby for sure. I'm not fully into it, but I play once in a while with friends. It's entertaining to see the types of decks that can be made without following standard rules.

I've got a wicked unlimited squirrel deck with most of the cards from odyssey.

Who else plays? How often? As well, what sort of decks do you play?

Hate to admit it on a website everyone is so damn cool, but I used to play and it's a lot of fun.
I occasionally go to FNM at Sentry box, it's double fun because you get to play and make fun of the nerds, and it's never a let down.

I played it when I was in elementary. Think I moved on to pogs afterwards. Haven't touched it since.

I used to play Magic when I was a kid.
Tried getting into it again but IMO the game went down hill after 7th gen.
In college I started collecting my favorite cards and even rebuilt 3 of my favorite decks (weenie white, weenie green and land destroyer) only to find out that my parents threw them away.. there goes $400 worth of cards
serves me right for not cleaning the basement.

Now, all I have left is my binder with rare magic cards and I have all MTG games on Steam

Man I used to love that game about 12 years ago in Jr.High. I had(have) a badass Red Instant deck which would destroy real quick in 1v1 games.

Fun game for sure.

Yeah I played in the 7th grade every lunch hour with most of the guys in my class. It was actually a lot of fun, so its kind of a pity about the nerdiness haha. After we quit playing I bought everybody's decks off them for dirt cheap, and ended up with well over 1500 cards including lots of rares. Then I traded them to my buddy for his gameboy and pokemon red. No regrets.

There's a room in HUB at U of A where a bunch of people play it all the time, at least when I went there the past four years. They definately reinforced the stereotype, for better or for worse.

I played up to weatherlight? Had full sets of alpha, beta, revised, arabian nights, antiquities, the three urza's, ice age.

Sold all my sets and bought my first car lol...nerdiness FTW.

I used to play mostly in Legacy/Extended. I've built all kinds of decks. My favorite ones are probably my Gobin Aggros, Elf Ramps, Grixis Control and Faerie Control. Control has done well in most of my matches, it's seldom I lose.

Haha good replies. I'd like to say I reinforce the stereo type but I don't. I said once in a while hobby, not 24/7 magic for life sort of deal. It's fun to get together with friends once in a while and play something other then poker and video games

I agree as well, used to be better back in the day. Some of the new mechanics are alright.

I still have my magic cards from when I was a kid/early teens. I play with my friends every once in a blue moon haha. Brings up some nostalgic memories
