I thought they said that they are going to have check stop everyday from now on to x'mas. I saw one last friday i think after work on mission road.
Why would you post where it is while its in operation? That I never understood why people post where a check stop location is unless they condone drinking and driving (not that I'm saying you do personally nor it was your intent to do so). But on a Friday afternoon, near downtown, during Christmas season; they have a good idea IMO.

That's because most of us who are on these forums are just regular guys working and trying to get home as quick as we can after work and not drunkards trying to avoid arrest, retardo.Originally posted by jdmXSI

I'll would be more than happy to sit in traffic for an hour if it takes a few drunks off the road.
So that all of us that do not drink at all do not needlessly need to be inconvenienced by these gestapo tactics.Originally posted by jdmXSI

The guy that's been drinking during the day is not at his office in front of his computer anyway, he's at some bikini lounge hittin on the waitresses
the only people they're gonna catch downtown at noon on friday is people who had a couple of beers at a casual lunch, so they can impound them for being .06... cash cow!

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
And what if someone (it only takes 1 person) had a couple too many drinks at lunch, sees this, then takes an alternate route home and seriously injures or takes a life. Was it worth it to post? imo it isn't.Originally posted by rx7boi

That is also a total extreme but it isn't an impossible scenario.

I say stupid shit all the time.
Having had lunch today @ Stephen ave, there's a whole lot of drunk business men hanging around there, very doubtful they'll be going back to work. So IMO now's as good a time as any to have one.

Until people start dropping like flies leaving downtown mid day, there is no problem that I see.
I think a mod should close this thread... It's just as bad as people tweeting out the locations of checkstops. I agree with jdmXSI
Woah guys, not condoning drinking and driving, I have an issue with the lack of common sense that the CPS seem to have. I don't want to turn this into a cop bashing thread because I have many friends who are officers but this idea of a checkstop at noon is just absurd. The accident near Cochrane was in the evening as are almost all D&D related accidents. From what I recall the day time check stops last year were not successful at all.
My reason to give people the heads up on the check stop is to make peoples days go smoother as most of us have places to be and business to conduct mid day during the week.
Lots of what ifs in life Bobby, at any given time on any given day there are drunks on the roads, checkstops are a great idea but they need to be used effectively, not foolishly.Originally posted by jdmXSI
