This is some messed up stuff, these days you cant go to school/mall/movie theatre without the possibility of some crazy shit happening. I guess its just a sign of the times though. Things are bad in the states, and people are getting pushed to the brink. That definitely doesnt justify shooting children...freaking children man. Why dont these crazy armed guys go down to Wall Street and start shooting instead?

You're tying to apply sane and stable logic to the situation.

Someone who does something like this is far from stable. Clearly, there is a disorder or mental condition in play here. People in their right mind just aren't capable of doing something like this.
