For the time it takes to drive your dog to the groomers/pick him up, you probably could have cut him yourself. I picked up an old industrial strength Oster A5 pet clipper for $1 at a garage sale and then paid $25 for each of 3 blades from eBay. Total investment = $76. I have 2 dogs. Given that it's at least $50 to $60 to cut my dogs, it paid off after I cut 1 and 1/2 dogs.
I can do my schnauzer in about 45 minutes (includes bath afterwards) but my airedale takes a little longer as I have to really brush her out beforehand: otherwise she clogs up the bath.
It's amazingly easy to clip a dog and it's mind blowing how much money has been saved. My schnauzer is 10 and my airedale is 6, and I've had the clipper after my 2nd visit to the groomer's (and I've had her since she was 3 months old). So you can do the math.
I actually didn't even like one of the groomers I went to (on Edmonton Trail and 20th Ave?). They had my dog for almost the full day and didn't even bother to walk her cause when I picked her up at 3, she made a beeline for the door and had the biggest pee just outside the shop.
Anyway it's just something to consider.
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!
