    Default Reasonably Priced Dog Groomer?

Any good groomers in Calgary that are priced reasonably? I am looking to pay about $30~$60. We are located in the deep SE and would like a place near by, but we wouldn't mind making a trip to go see a good groomer as it won't be a weekly thing anyway.

As a side note, sorry for all the dog related questions.. A lot of the relevant threads are outdated and I find it hard to find good genuine information by using Google. I really value everyone's opinion on Beyond and find it the most useful.

It all depends on the dog breed. All prices include nails, cut and shampoo. If I go with a full cut on a smaller dog, the fee is $70, if I go with something called a "Bath and a Tidy" the fee is $50, B&T is basically: shampoo, nails, trim face and body. Tack on a tip..... well a cat looks less expensive.

Our dog is a maltese, around 3 pounds. We want to keep his hair pretty short (is it called a puppy cut?), the long, traditional maltese hairdos don't really appeal to us.

For the time it takes to drive your dog to the groomers/pick him up, you probably could have cut him yourself. I picked up an old industrial strength Oster A5 pet clipper for $1 at a garage sale and then paid $25 for each of 3 blades from eBay. Total investment = $76. I have 2 dogs. Given that it's at least $50 to $60 to cut my dogs, it paid off after I cut 1 and 1/2 dogs.

I can do my schnauzer in about 45 minutes (includes bath afterwards) but my airedale takes a little longer as I have to really brush her out beforehand: otherwise she clogs up the bath.

It's amazingly easy to clip a dog and it's mind blowing how much money has been saved. My schnauzer is 10 and my airedale is 6, and I've had the clipper after my 2nd visit to the groomer's (and I've had her since she was 3 months old). So you can do the math.

I actually didn't even like one of the groomers I went to (on Edmonton Trail and 20th Ave?). They had my dog for almost the full day and didn't even bother to walk her cause when I picked her up at 3, she made a beeline for the door and had the biggest pee just outside the shop.

Anyway it's just something to consider.
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!

it's off your way but for people in the NE/NW, we've always brought our dogs to Especially for Pets in 16th ave NE across Bubblemania.
    it's $40 per dog.

I have a Pomeranian and I cut her myself. Tired of paying $50-$80 for someone else to do what I can do in 20 minutes.

We are scared to cut his hair for the first time, especially around the face area because he moves around so darn much. Doing it ourselves at home is definitely an option we will consider in the future but we would like to see a groomer for the first few times.

Since our dog is short haired, I don't get her groomed.. but I do take her to petland to have her bathed. She usually comes back pretty happy and smelling good.

I have a friend that grooms out of her home in Evergreen. She would be right in your price range. Give Kelsey a call or text at 403.463.3683 and let her know Rich gave you her number.

Here are some pics of her work.

Any worth it in the SW (no deeper south than the Glenmore)? Both of my groomers have closed shop or are on an extended vacation.
