x2. I tried it a few months back thinking to digitize all my old films but it was such a PITA. You can pick up an Epson V500 for $150 at Staples; scans negatives, slides, medium format and prints and does a really good job of it.

Looking great guys! Excited for the work to come out of this year, I have to step up my photo game!

Started the year off with a engagement shoot at Azuridge Lodge...what a fantastic venue. Here is a couple favorites

    Nice shots, Mike!

Wasn't sure where to put this info...I still have a Nikon ML-L3 remote, a Colourvision Spyder 2 calibrator tool and a couple soft pouches lying around if anyone can make use of them. The spyder2 will require you to get ahold of the software but that's easy.

Also I got a couple photography books in the mail and for newbies looking for advice or experienced photogs looking for some inspiration, I think they're both fantastic:

The Art of Photography by Bruce Barnbaum and Why Photographs Work by George Barr.

Anyone have any others' portfolios at home? I've got too many to rattle off haha.

Some photos from my trip. Only used a Nokia Lumia 920 for these shots and brought my G10 without even letting it out of the bag :

some good shots and looks like you had a good time!
how did it perform in low light?

and yes for regular snapshots, even a cell phone will work just as fine.
when I'm on holidays I mainly use my iphone4 for snapshots then only bring out the dslr for some serious shots.

Canmore shots with x100, I think I will be getting the 28mm converter and start shooting more landscape with this camera.

Is it just me or are the x100's files insanely good?

Thanks! It was a lot of fun and I'm excited for more soon!

I'd say the camera is 'adequate to fair' in low light:

This is actually one of my favorite shots out of the entire trip:

Small sensor P&S cameras will be dead in a few years.

so far I've been really impressed with the x100 files, either raw or jpg, even SOOC needs very little editing.

Went to Banff today to shoot some fashion.. as soon as we arrived on location I got called from work to head to edmonton so I had less than an hour to shoot 3 different looks all withing 50ft of eachother in the one building. In addition to that I was also using my new Elinchrom Ranger RX Speed AS w/ an action head. It is pretty amazing and with the Pocket Wizard Flex System it works really well in conjunction with the canon speedlights. Can control everything from the AC3 unit on top of my camera and never have to run to a light to change the power. Havent got the hang of it all yet but we came out with some decent stuff anyways
