I think it was in BC where the minister responsible was asked why they hadnt consulted with a certain native group (who I guess was protesting) .... he said that when they had an open house ON THE RESERVE to discuss the event leading up to the bill, ONE person showed up.

At this point there is literally no solution to the native problem that I would find too extreme. I'll leave it at that.

They want equality but not the same equality as us.

What's more amusing about all of this is that the same beyonders that are bleating about the natives will probably be the same ones ponying up to the smorg trough at the Grey Eagle.
    Will fuck off, again.

3 weeks ago i was stuck on highway 1 for an hour around Morley going back to Calgary because these fucks decided to protest right on the main highway. i thought it was due to a serious accident or something...was not impressed.

If I heard a semi-truck driver got pissed off and just put the hammer down through such a situation my reaction would be as follows.

Meh. Followed by oh well. And upon reflection? Good riddance.

At first I had thought this was about them becoming harder workers...idle no more...but I was mistaken
I enjoy that they are still pissing non-natives off more and more by disrupting traffic etc, while they now have a meeting with the chiefs, the gg and the pm coming up along with the hunger strike chief.

Because the Govenor General won't be there...

There will always be a reason to not meet. Harper should just reply back "Fine. Starve."

This is a joke and a waste of media attention just like the protests in 2011/2012

Harper should call her out on her fake hunger strike.

Or he should start his own to spite her haha.

Should evict her from the island she is camped on, you'd think camping is illegal in the city.

In all fairness, her move isn't as flighty as it seems... This isn't the meeting she had been asking for.

She's been politically outmaneuvered by Harper - Really, no good choices remain to her. She probably wasn't well suited to such political brinkmanship in the first place.

She is ridiculous. Natives are so desperate to have a voice, that they'll support the first loudmouth with some lungs.

It's a shame, as there are educated and articulate natives that could do a far better job than this woman.

That's actually not that far off from what virtually all tax payers are thinking.

They don't need a voice or a mouthpiece.

They should be entitled to everything that an ordinary Canadian is. Nothing more and nothing less. ALL of their problems are self-generated, the fix starts and ends with them.

    "Entitled"?

The ordinary Canadian is a recipient of stolen property. As far as I'm concerned, their entitled to go back to where they came from.

    Obviously, that's not realistic.

That the descendents of the original inhabitants deserve some recompense is not unreasonable to me.

Edit: It also seems reasonable for them to expect Canada to honor the spirit of its treaties, and not look for dodges.
