Meanwhile in BC yesterday the premiers home had protestors. Police showed up instantly and arrested a few people shutting the protest down.
Officials arrived at 7:50 a.m. after hearing reports that protestors were banging on the door, stating they would make a citizen’s arrest of the Premier. Police asked protestors to move a couple hundred metres away from the property and three adults who refused to leave were arrested....

....“The unlawful entry onto private property and committing the criminal offence of mischief by blocking access at the Premier’s residence was a gross invasion,” said Inspector Todd Preston, officer in charge at West Shore RCMP. “I strongly condemn the actions of the individuals involved.”

Somehow there is a significant difference between protesting on railway tracks and protesting on a driveway of the Premier. Funny how that works.

I was wondering how much longer it was going to take for this. Good ole Alberta mob justice
Actually... I'm coming around to wetsuwen ideology...

Block the rail lines... No oil via rail. WCS has already jumped 10% in the last week. Legaults throwing fits so clearly they're still really low on propane stores. Wasn't even 2 weeks during the strike.

So our WCS price is climbing... The east will be suffering shortages within a month. It's 30+ days for a tanker to arrive from middle east. So rationing shortages, prices in the east will start soaring.

Kenney says Legault you want our oil - build us energy east and you can have some.

Eliminating the oil by rail reduces the upstream emissions, we've cleaned up the environment and gotten a new energy east project built. Legault can't really scream no pipelines while his subjects are freezing and walking and can't get to the cottage or afford a boat trip can he?

Maybe crude by rail was the stupidest idea ever.

Either Trudeau needs to grow a pair or let someone like Kenney take care of shit. Via rail announced 1000 layoffs due to this...not fair for so many families to suffer in this manner. You have the right to peacefully protest but not to disrupt so many lives.

This is going to get ugly and someone is going to get injured somewhere. If this continues another week there will be thousands more layoffs, and a real impact to the broad economy.

Who wants to be trudeau's solution is to write cheques?

I do agree with you that it's not fair. At the same time, it will be a successful protest if they create a lot of disruption, it was kind of the point.

I also feel bad for people that may run out of propane, and that will really drive the point home. But that's in Quebec, so I am sure the federal government will sort something out by then. Will still drive costs up as mentioned above. Rail and others may see a short term bump in margin once this is over.

well albertans dismantled the blockade in edmonton. Theres a few jokes going around saying a few albertans with a pick up truck have done more for our country then Trudeau has.

CN has a province wide injunction now in case any other blockades appear on the rail lines.

Via Rail is French, that'll be enough to make something happen.

No cheques yet, but he is considering withdrawing the RCMP from the parts of BC affected.

Guess they actually can direct the police after all

Of course that will be the solution, they FN community knows that which is why they are doing what they are doing.

And it will happen again, and again, and again until we have an actual leader who isn't afraid to stand up and say enough is enough and actually uphold the law.

Truck driver goes through Manitoba blockade set up by Wet’suwet’en supporters

RCMP are investigating after a truck driver refused to stop for a group of protesters — allegedly hitting at least one of the demonstrators — while they blocked Highway 75 near Morris, Man., Monday.

Good. I wish physical harm on no person, but this has to come to an end. If you're going to play stupid games, accept the consequences.

Excellent. I hope someone finds a way to make these people accept consequences for their actions.

You presume that the rest of Canada has zero leverage, which is not the case. Canadians simply have, so far, refused to use their leverage.

Hard to say how much leverage Canada has - the country is never will to test it.
