These Hereditary Chiefs remind of those shady cunts from work place lotto pools that won. They didn't want to put in their 2 cents(buy tickets) when money collection for tickets was going on. There are already laws in place that make blocking rail lines and transportation routes illegal. Do you don't need a piece of paper stamped by a dude in a robe to make it even more illegal.

I said well intentioned - and that they weren't effectively managed. Like all government and church programs.

But gwill will forever claim it was done as a way to destroy FNs.

Sorry my view will never change - and that doesn't make me racist - putting FN children through the equivalency of what today would be sending them off to a boarding school was a way to integrate and include them in the nation.

Go back look through the papers of the day and some of the commentary from parliment and you'll see true racism - this was an era when racism was truly rampant, where slaves were owned. "Wasting" money to educating these heathen was overwhelmingly frowned upon.

In the context of the era - the residential schools were unheard of. Cry all you want through modern rose colored glasses - the intent itself was noble, extremely progressive compared to what much of the Populus desired at the time - segregation and let them fend for themselves.

Back on topic, I bet why the injunctions are actually being carried out right now might have been kick-started by Albertan actions. People started taking down the blockades themselves and was probably a worrying sign in law enforcement's view that parties would eventually clash and things would escalate severely. I'm honestly surprised the barricade removal in Alberta went as smoothly as it did

theres a French article quoting the premier of quebec as saying their police are delaying the dismantling of a blockade as the reserve has assault weapons on it.

I'm not sure what your alluding to but I'm on the record for saying they should take a train and plow through the barricades and that our police should be ending any blockade immediately.

Interestingly enough they refused to stop a train and did just that yesterday or today.
