Default my P.O.S mazda will not not start......

I am having trouble with my 98 626. when the engine is hot the car will not start. when it is cold the engine runs fine. If i drive the car enough to warm the engine, turn it off and then try to turn it back on the engine will crank but won't catch. The starter sounds fine. My battery holds 12.6v, I have a new alternator, fuel and air filter, my timing was fixed in june, new plugs and wires. i was thinking that it was a sensor but i am not getting a check engine light. If you guys have any ideas please pass them on to me....Thanks Jason

I know on some of my older cars, the starter itself, although fine, would get heat soaked, and not work when hot, but that was only in the summertime...being where you are at this time in the year...hmmm....A relay or yeah even a sensor, not all sensors warrant a CEL, but can cause havoc...

I was thinking a crack position sensor but i checked it and it is fine, maybe the coolant temp sensor??? If i give it a little gas when i am trying to start it (when the engine is warm) it will start and run fine until i take my foot off the gas then it shuts down. When it is running it is perfect, it runs smooth and dosen't misfire at all. thanks for the help...

so if you start it cold, it will run fine. but if you start it warm, you cant take your foot off the gas at all, even like a minute later?

THis goes back to the same problem some guy was having with a probe, I am gonna guess your car is a v-6? If so, there is a problem with the ignitors on Mazda coils on the v-6 motors, I have seen and heard about so many going, its the first place to start, when it dies, pull the plugs out and check for consistent strong spark, if its sparking consistently, the problem is in the ignition referencing , since the computer looks at the ignition reference to not only spark properly, but also to fire the injectors, your problem lies there...Max

I've had my foot on the gas keeping it running for at least 5 min once. I parked somewhere that i shouldn't have and was informed of my actions after i turned the car off. I had to drive with two feet for at least 5 min to find another spot. Soon as i let my foot off the gas it died. I have also tried reving it to 3 and 4 grand and it shut down after the gas was released.

the coil pack also checks out o.k.

Question Did u fix this problem yet?

cause, now i have the same problem. its 1993 mazda 626 2.0L, Yesterday i was driving it for a few hours and stoped at the store. Whan i came back to my car i couldnt star it whithout keeping my food on gas. I meen, it doesnt keep "rotation" on neutral! it just shuts. At trafic lights i have to keep it running with gas pedal again. So, this is exactly the same problem.
NO CHECK ENGINE light, drives fine on 1st 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th gear. When its cold -- starts like brand new. im only having problems on hat engine.
what is solution in this situation? any ideas?

    thank you!

Problem solved. I sold the mazda...

I did fix the problem. I got a can of carb cleaner, took off the throttle body and soaked it with the carb cleaner, the carbon build up in there was causing my problem. Before you take the TB off go get a new gasket, mine came off in pieces. Hope this helps....

included on the TB is the IAC valve, i'm sure that a good cleaning did nothing but help my situation. All in it cost me less than $5 and about an hour, so you have nothing to loose
