I had 2 train stations and boats for tourists and I was having sports events which costed $35K and would bring in a max profit of around $120K I think. I maxed out almost every time and the tourists would spend money at hotels and such afterwards.

The servers are getting better, but it can still be frustrating when you want to play and the server is down.

I managed to play ALL DAY yesterday for the first time. I had a good 10 hour session with no issues, built 4 cities, and they finally fixed the region bugs.

People are saying you get a free game if you buy before March 18th, but that's not what Maxis said, they said "ON March 18, SimCity players who have activated their game will receive an email telling them how to redeem their free game."

ON March 18th. It doesn't say from what date to what date is legible for the free game.

Simcity 4 was an intense long game with complexity around every corner.

The new simcity is dumbed down a bunch, things are simplified, and the pace is much quicker. However, it is more engaging compared to simcity 4. I found I could only play simcity 4 in short bursts before getting bored of it.

Thanks for the reply man. I'm still on the edge of whether to get the game or not. I was, and still am, a huge fan of Sim City 4 and the large modding community that was behind it all, taking the game beyond its limits.

If anything, I may get it just for the free game EA will give out haha!

Anno is much more of a challenge. This feels just like how Diablo 3 felt when it came out.

The way I interpret it is, if you've activated your game by March 18 you'll be eligible for the free game. It specifies the deadline of when it needs to be activated, so the eligibility is pretty clear cut to me
