The girlfriend and I are planning Japan this summer. Unfortunately being a student limits us to one big get away or two smaller ones per year. Last year we spent new years in Cuba and a week in Vegas over the summer.
I'm heading to the far east for 3 weeks; Japan to be specific. Already done lots in both Americas, and been all over Europe and Australia. Time for something totally foreign.
Might do a week somewhere hot if we can find a cheap deal too.
lol, I don't know what you are talking about with this "unfortunately" bs lol... Most working people would love to take one vacation a year... nevermind two!Originally posted by Destinova403

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
This is beyond. 10 weeks vacation is the norm..
Contemplating Malaysia, Singapore...but I am not a fan of long flights.
My hubby's family is planning a trip to Europe for us to go on...should be fun.
I would like to return to NYC in the summer.
Kauai/Maui planned for this spring for 2 weeks.
Probably a bunch of 2-4 day trips around AB/BC/Montana/Washington/Wyoming during the summer.
I have about 8 weeks of vacation time banked that I'd like to use, but because I'm closing on my house in a few days and need to furnish it and all that crap, financially big trips are out of the picture for 2013 for now. Nonetheless, the parts of SE Asia I haven't seen, or South America, are next on the big trip to-do list, which should be feasible for 2014.
LOL I guess I should clarify. We make significant sacrifices to be able to go on one trip per year. Thats the priority at this point in our lives.Originally posted by brandon

If the finances allowed, I'd love to do a cross-europe adventure or something similar but being a student doesn't allow this.
Antarctica is a goal of mine too! Just to step foot and see what a giant ice cube looks like haha.
I'm hoping Europe 2014 would be doable for me and here's to hoping!
I love both places, there's so much good food.Originally posted by flipstah
I have the travel bug and I absolutely love it. I was also thinking of Vietnam and Cambodia since they're close and my relatives said it's gorgeous. Same with Morocco; nothing but positives.
You have to go with someone who knows the Vietnam area well so you hit up the best spots or else it's kind of boring. All depends on who you go with imo.
That's good to know. Thanks for the tips!Originally posted by pockett

supposedly going to Vancouver with friends this summer but if that backfires then we might just go down to Cali. I want to finally drive the PCH from LA to SF, maybe head to Vegas and hopefully go see the Grand Canyon.
our wedding will be in Mexico in 2014 but I'm hoping I can squeeze a trip to the Philippines in Jan 2014 or maybe to Venice to visit relatives.
Mexico in April. Vegas in may. Texas in June.
Cottage weekends all summer.
All I need!!
I was in Egypt in the fall and things were safe, but it sounds like it went a bit downhill from there. Personally if you're moderately well traveled I wouldn't worry about going there. The conflict is an internal one, just stay away from the protest. The majority of locals I met were really stoked we were there and went out of their way to show that its still safe for tourists (unless you're a western woman, but that's unrelated to the protests...).
2013 looks to be the first year I won't get off the continent in 5 years
Heading to San Fran for a week in Aug, although if my circumstance change (get a better job) I REALLY want to get to Burma before the rest of the world realizes the country is open for business.
well it wasn't in our plans but just bought tickets to Manila from Aug 24-Sep7 for $1390 each for my grandma's 90th bday.
there goes our Hawaii/Cali budget for the falls.
