Where would you guys recommend buying nato straps from? I was looking for one similar to the strap that littledan has.

I was about to buy from "Crown & Buckle" but I found that "Gnomon Watches" had a bit more variety in terms of colours and finishes. There's also "cheapestnatostraps.com" and "broadarrow.net/maratac.htm" which came recommended from a few people.

I ended up buying the one pictured from Gnomon...purchased w/ Paypal and shipped from Singapore and arrived at my home in just over a week. No hassles at all.

Would you recommend a Nato strap for use in the gym?

i wouldnt think a nato would be good for the gym with all the sweat and getting stains on it etc. i would say go rubber if you want to do that.

Exactly what 3oz said...even though it's nylon, it will still get stained and smelly after a while. Rubber or Stainless would last the longest, but the spacing in the links of the SS would get all gross after a while, too. Do you absolutely need to wear a watch at the gym?

Just because I can be, at times, fairly active so I wanted to make sure it can withstand to physical movement, sweat, etc.

For physical activities I like to stick with rubber or nato. Nato is probably the cheapest to replace if it gets too funky smelling. Stainless bracelets get scratched up pretty good when banged around. Natural skins are best for those dressy low activity days. They get stinky real quick.
Someday we may need to activate the halo structure off Deerfoot and destroy the North East.

i bought my nato straps from crown & buckle, gnomon is fairly reputable as well though.

regarding using it at the gym, weights is not a problem but once you do cardio activity that will make you sweat, it will stain and smell after a while.

i found washing the strap once in a while helps it, especially brushing the back that touches your skin.

Those are the reason why I went with NATO/nylon straps than steel or plastic, I wanted something reliable that I could wear 24/7. I've worn mine while biking, running, swimming, snowboarding etc.
the only time I take off my watch is when I shower, sometimes I wear it at the gym, other times I take it off.

btw if anyone wants some NATO straps, I might be interested on selling/trading these, never used

Is there anywhere in town that sells these (without being way out on price compared to gnomon)? Would like one for tonight...
