Bow Valley College Data Leak - received letter.

I was "student" at BVC about 10 years ago.

Anyway they had a data leak, including SIN numbers of students.

Now that im much more older, and with children, do I have to provide SIN numbers of my children to their schools? SO this does not happen again?

Because the cunt at BVC insisted I go home and pick up my SOCIAL insurance card when i was applying - still remember.

Well young little kids don't get tax receipts for tuition so probably not.

BVC didn't give a fuck, I emailed them and told them THEY should provide credit monitoring since it was an error on their part. They told me since it was a private citizen that found the computer and they turned it in they weren't worried and the risk was low blah blah blah..... basically go fuck yourself. I was in that group too.

When this news broke I reported the event directly to Visa Canada's head of security. No doubt BVC has PCI compliance issues now.
