I should be doing one this Saturday - I don't believe you need anything though DL sounds like a possible requirement. If I remember I'll post about it later.
We'll be in BC though, so maybe it's a little different. It is a "tour from Banff", but the actual snowmobiling is in Golden.

I was just on one of these tours in Golden. No drivers license is required but just call and ask if you are worried.
Other than that, bring a neck warmer for sure and some warm boots (they have boots if you don't bring any).
Have fun!
Are trail passes required in BC?

Depends where you ride, 90% of the groomed trails require a pass, the snowmobile clubs operate on donations and charging for trail passes!
as far as needing a license you should be fine, my only concern would be with the place renting the sled, I would phone them and check ahead of time!
Wear layers of clothing, its never a bad idea to over dress!
Who are you doing these through? That could be a lot of fun
I'm guessing the snowmobiles being provided? If you're going to be headed into the alpine, a good guide will give you the basics in avalanche recovery, supply all of your backcountry gear, Poles, Shovels, Transceivers. (I believe they won't include the batteries for legal reasons, thus you have to purchase new ones - 2x AA or AAA)
They should also have your trail passes/permits already sorted.
Who's the tour company/guide?
Where are you headed?

So we didn't need driver's licenses for our tour. They supplied helmet/boots/gloves as necessary. Snowpants can also be a good idea.

This is who I was planning to book it through:

I did a tour a few years ago in Crowsnest pass, they hooked us up with 800cc sleds and aggressive aftermarket tracks. That was interesting for my first time out... will probably book something a little more mild this time, the 660cc ones look good.
A follow up question: How late does the season typically run? I might have to postpone this until March.
Rockies: While March can get dicey, this is a decent snow year. You can sled well into May on good years.

That's sweet. I might have to see about getting out on one of these...
