I should clarify when I say El Torito is "fine Mexican food", I mean that the food is good, not that it's high end.
Oh yeah, how is your child, because if they're older than 7-8 they probably won't enjoy Legoland unless they're really into Lego.

I understood what you meant about El Torito. Mexican to me has no link to "fine dining" haha. But it IS bloody delicious!Originally posted by suntan

The little guy is 5. Legoland was more of a push for myself as i am a kid at heart and for many many many years lego was a HUGE inspiration to me. Id like him to experience the same. I am STILL looking for a the Technic Lego Ferrari i say at the Lego store a few years ago!
There is also a giant Lego store in Downtown Disney. Check it out.Originally posted by spike98

Five is a great age for LL. They have a driving course that he will enjoy a ton.
If you're feeling brave go to a King Taco. I find them very authentic, their salsas can be killer, killer hot.
just came back from cali few days ago. only if the economy and heathcare are as good as what we have here, i would move there in a heart bit. hahaha

I love Santa Monica beach too, but it's so... far... away... I like Venice beach the best because of crazies and there's always hot chicks in thongs in the summer.
rent a car and go places...
I love surfing in the oxnard shores in Oxnard... but thats pretty far north
check out Newport - good beach, nice surf, big breaks
they have a crab shack off of Balboa
my fav mexican food place:
Lo Mejor De Jalisco - Port Hueneme, CA lol, but that's not close
Topanga park is gorgous... great view of the ocean, go for lunch in Malibu
I have a buddy who is a prof at UCLA, and the campus is quite awesome
Surfing in Carlsbad is a great way to spend an afternoon, there is an outlet mall there, and good grub
I golfed Wooley lake in Thousand Oaks... thousand oaks is a nice community
Santa Monica is always nice to bum around...
I'd avoid venice/manhattan beach.. not my thing
