Default Canadian Recording Industry Association goes after file swappers

All over the news today. It'll be interesting to see what happens, because in Canada, we have a levi (tax) on every blank media we buy, in essence, allowing us to copy music legally (it's law).

See this article explaining the levy and the law:

Shaw's all over the news today, saying they're going to fight for the privacy of its users, and no information will be revealed. Case is to be heard in early March.

Here's another interesting article... a Canadian court rules it's legal to download music from peer to peer networks:

They are, however, imposing levies on mp3 devices such as the ipod, in addition to what we pay on blank media.

hahaha, i have all my d/l'ed files going to an alternative file so my shared file remains empty! haha. If there is nothing for others to upload, then they obviously cant slow down my d/l's

Yeah, better start emptying out the shared folder...

The record companies are already getting some payback though. The record companies are releasing a LOT of songs online with errors in them. I find that at least one in two songs have errors in them now...
