Chevy SS not coming to Canada

It’s not a good week for performance or green car fans of GM, as GM Canada confirmed that the V-8 SS sport sedan that debuted at Daytona last weekend won’t be available in Canada, while the Cadillac ELR plug-in and the Chevrolet Spark EV won’t be available to see at the Canadian International Auto Show, although they made their Canadian debut there just before the show opened to the public.

Couldn't find it in the search. Thought I would post it in here.

Oh come on GM. I was very interested when the G8-GT showed up but shutting down Pontiac killed that. I had resigned myself to eventually buying another stupid Dodge (Charger SRT8 or 300 SRT8) but this would have been a perfect fit. Except you're not bringing it to Canada.

^ No we did. All of 9 of them. Yeah... finding a Canadian G8 GXP is honestly impossible.

Lately since the recession I've been very disappointed with their decisions. Saturn was starting to make some wicked cars & SUV's ( I own one) same with Pontiac. The G8 was a great car, leave alone the GT or the GXP even...... so........ why cut them entirely? Why not just rebadge them under Chevy and keep selling them?


...... and now this. Its like..... fuck seriously?
I'll have to import one from the states I guess.... Much like a G8 GXP if I ever seriously wanted one.

I actually have driven a G8 GXP and it was stunning. This is a major error, not bringing this to Canada.

How hard would the import process be with the RIV bringing this to Canada?

Does it need DRLs and some other mods first

Wow, thats not a bad price at all.... holy shit. I was looking at importing a GXP up from the states, and after taxes it would be almost that much.

Just DRL's, thats pretty much it. We already have the G8's here, so just getting a USDM one would be no biggie at all.

No I think it was just a very stupid decision with GM. Much like most of these limited edition cars auto makers make, it was the same thing with this. But this few? come on.

at least sell a hundred or so, with this low amount Im sure people were passing "favors" over to people at dealerships so they were the first ones in line.

I honestly didn't even know the GXP's were available here until long after Pontiac was axed.
