Anyone with the slightest hint of intellegence knows that it's not truly 0%, it's just built into the selling price. But somewhere if there is a greasy lawyer that thinks they can make a buck at society's expense, well then...

Don't ads usually say $XXXX off, or 0% financing? Isn't that pretty self explanatory?

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Well TBH I can see where this has merit, IF the seller says "Free financing" instead of just simply stating 0%, which most educated people know isn't really free when there's discounts for cash or fees tacked on top. But for a consumer, I can see how this could lead to false marketing.

Maybe this brings us to free cell phones LOL

It's not always an option. When I was looking at a Jeep they had 0% but I asked about cash discounts instead and they said no. Maybe the salesman was an idiot.

I don't think I ever saw any car seller call it "free financing". It's always either 0% financing or interest-free financing.

    It's Quebec.

They want their free lunch, free ride, free education, and free financing.

I've actually had to explain to a couple of people recently that 0% financing usually just means that you pay the interest (or more) up front, so I would say that yes, some people are confused by the offer of 0% financing.

That said, I think that rarely dealers do offer 0% financing, but no explicit discount for cash. In that case, the 0% may be a good deal, but I'd imagine that you could use that as a negotiating point and still get a better deal for cash.
