I've got the 2.7... Will there be any huge difference?
I can’t say for sure I only have experience with the 3.5. But the way the emissions laws are these days every manufacturer has gone overboard with the PCV setups. ANY engine will benefit.

Holy shit. Seriously? Any suggestions on partnumbers etc?
The JLT is the easiest to install but your paying $300 to get that ease of install. It comes with a ridiculous amount of hosing if you are anal about hiding the hoses. I went that route on my 19 because of how easy it was to install. I only have about 1200km on mine and so far it Has an eye dropper amount, go figure as I have seen pictures like what Max posted. Maybe it’s not as bad on the newer truck, dunno, far from an expert on this.

Yeah and those cans are waaaayyy bigger than the Mishimoto I have, so I have to empty the damn thing like every day. It has a fitting on the bottom tho. I may put in a nipple and let it drain into a larger, secondary, single port can.

Well apparently it was an issue with 2015-2017's (only direct injection) but now that the 2.7's have both Port and Direct injection it likely does not have the same issues.

Also, looking up JLT it seems to only have 2 hoses. If im reading correctly we need the triple setup?

It’s not just the carbon buildup on the valves. It’s the coating of oil inside your intercooler and piping, BOV, etc.

I used two connections so if we need a 3rd that sucks for me because I never did that.

Did you only replace one side of the PCV system?

It’s not my forte so I can’t be overly descriptive but all I did was exactly what the directions showed. One hose to the pcv valve and one to the front of the intake and then mounted it to the back passenger side. Took like 10 minutes tops......so yes, just the passenger side.

Looking at a 2015-17 F150 and been comparing the 5.0 and the 3.5TT. What do you guys recommend? The 5.0 appears to be the more reliable engine (less that can go wrong vs turbos etc) What are Beyonds opinions on the debate?
I dont think there is 100% right answer because they both have pros and cons, the 3.5 guys will swear by it and the 5.0 guys will recommend the 5.0. They do drive very different though but if you're not needing to haul a ton i would just find the best truck option and condition wise and it wouldnt really matter what motor you end up wit between the 2. If you want some fun go on the f150 forum and ask this haha

Emptied the can yesterday. This was after one trip to springbank airport and back. About 30-50Km. That’s all shit that would otherwise be getting sucked into my engine!

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

I see Ford is re-recalling the block heater cord fire recall for more extensive repairs for a second time now on some model years. I have a 2015 and 2016 it applies to but not a 2017 in inventory.

Apparently lol, the service lady tried to tell me it must have been on before, so I asked when they did their "service package inspection" why it wasn't noted, conversation changed quickly then.

Again??? Well, that's one more thing to fix the next time I am in the dealer... assuming they have the parts. With my luck, I will most likely be in 3 separate times... one for scheduled maintenance, one to fix the IWE issue, and one for the block heater... LOL

Yep I have the 2015 there for IWEs and that re-recall.

Anyone have the 2.7? I see a lot of nice, low km 2.7s for sale but I'm wondering if they have enough power? I would be daily driving the truck and only using it to tow a few times a year (ski boat + trailer for ~4,000lbs of weight + gear)

I’ve driven lots of them and they have plenty of power. I flat tow a 2010 Mazda 3 with them regularly and they still accelerate and pass on the highway no problem.

That 2.7L has more useable power than the old 5.4L V8 that used to be in a lot of super duty trucks, and those were used to move some beastly loads. It's a great engine.
