    Agreed.
Guy tried to sell me a package that was more per month than my truck. I shit you not. i thought he's slipped a digit somewhere but he assured me he had not. I chose the $0 biweekly package after a short discussion.
Baha, I'm sure I'll get one too. Gotta buy that prepaid maintenance package for the 2 oil changes right?

I'm pretty comfortable dealing with the car sales shenanigans, but my good being trapped in that office listening to 6 "piece of mind" talks is so painful.

I have a 14' ecoscrew and so far I have 167K mostly problem free - keep going for routine mobile 1 oil Changs with the works, proactive with fluid and plug changes and I've done the Drain plug weep hole mod and so far the motor is solid.

I do get the odd groan from the tranny, but that is a tsb I'm past warranty and apparently has no bearing on the health... that is until maybe recently.

Took the truck up to Fairmont ski hill, and some sections were are pretty steep and I was gunning it a bit in 4x4 HI as it was slippery. At the top and (and this has happened at the top of norquay) I smell that "clutch" or "brake" or "tranny" smell... so I reckon its the tranny. Its a 6r80 and I've towed it many of times and never got the smell...

I took it in to Ford and they said no leaks and fluid level is fine... and even the tranny temp at most got to 97c which is well within the norm of the 6r80.

Any thoughts? could it just be fluid burning but kinda normal when its under excessive load or at an angle?

Just got back from signing mine at Cam Clark. Extraslow's guy is good and doesn't do a whole lot of sales guy BS.

    $219/bw, GST included. $2500 down.

Same truck as everyone else, except I deleted the sunroof and added wheel liners, spray in bed liner, FX4/20" and the power tailgate.
No upsell from finance office either, finance dude knew all about the deal and even said himself he wouldn't bother getting any packages.

Ok possible update on my lease deal in progress.

Latest numbers coming in on exact spec truck as the cam clark deal except 18” wheels instead of the 20”, 20k kms.

Prepay all in amount of $11,6xx including taxes and fees.

If this pans out and im not missing some 2k deposit or something, then i'd like to formally be declared the winner of the 2021 ford f150 lease olympics and receive a golden reward from extraslow.

Yeah, he's reasonably no-nonsense. I found him easy to work with.

Golden reward... @ExtraSlow you’re up, man.

Oh that kind of golden reward.

    Carry on, then.

Probably just got hot from load. might have even been the cats. I wouldn't worry too much. Whens the last time you did your trans fluid?

those transmissions routinely run to 240f as part of the design. That may be a lot hotter than "back in the day" but it's not a cause for concern.

If it smelled like clutch and it was slippery... it’s brakes, stability doesn’t turn off 100% and the rear brakes is what keeps the ass where it should be in those situations

I wish I would have waited at the start and got in on the referral credits, lol.

Oh well, just waiting for the business office to call back and run everything. Then the worst part of all car buying, the ridiculous finance meeting and the "upsell", sigh
That was so frustrating. Tried to sell me a "Wear and tear package" with "9k coverage" on a 24m lease, for $4000.
"I can discount it to x amount" after I said no.
    I still said no.

I kinda find the smell of clutch, ATF and Brakes to be somewhat similar... that's where I was having troubles figuring it out, but that said I did not see the TC light coming on, so I assume it wasn't the rear brakes.

Well I think the only logical solution here is to go do some donuts in an effort to recreate the problem

    Can't argue with the logic.

I don't need a truck or want a truck but this deal is sucking me in.

For those who've ordered, is the Power Tailgate a must option? It was handy with my 1/2 ton Denali, but I am just commuting with it and not sure if it will help resale or a lease transfer down the line. Any other options I should check off?

Definetly get the trailer tow package. I use mine for dragging my blackwater tank around a neighbourhood to dump my poops instead of heading to a proper disposal location. So far so good nobody has caught on.
