Got the truck back, looks much better with the XL sport grille. A $1300 touch!

Nice, I like that grille as well. And those wheels. I liked them so much I bought a set to use for my summer towing tires. If I buy summer towing tires.

Is the 20 for days in transit? 20 days until it ships? Excited to finally see progress.

Usually the transit date is how many days in transit, but it seems like a ballpark number based on what I've seen on the F150 forums. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Thanks, I mean that makes sense, but wasn't sure if it meant the obvious.
Ballpark is fine, just trying to time when to list the wife's car.

I have been having trouble with the lug nuts on my 2015 truck. The last few time changing tires, I have noticed the socket has been getting stuck on the lug nuts. Then finally when I was switching to my winter last year, some of the lug nuts were starting to get rounded. Also, the lug nut caps are starting to move even though the lug nuts properly torqued. I wasn't aware of the lug nut swelling problem common on the F150 and other Fords. However, after researching a bit, this seems to be a common problem. Now that it is almost time to switch out the winter tires, I will have to think about loosening the lug nuts. I expect that I won't be able to get the socket to fit on at least a couple of the lug nuts because they have swelled, rounded or stripped. What do you guys recommend for me to use to extract the lug nuts? I have something in mind be would welcome any recommendations. I also need to look into the type of lug nuts to buy to replace the OEM ones.
Are they still putting the same type of lug nuts on the new trucks?
I think all the f150s have this problem. I've read about on the firm forums pretty much constantly. Good quality one price after-market nuts shoukd do the trick better than stock.

Well shit, this explains my struggles over the years. I thought I was just somehow damaging them or my socket was under/oversized slightly. I ended up taking a file to the outside to just make them fit. But looks like I'll be replacing them this year. Extralug, do you have a suggestion on what ones are decent? Or this this more of an @tirebob question? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

ExtraLug would just have to read the ford forums to find the correct replacements. Gorilla is good, others are good. Bob probably knows.

You all just basically need to go with a solid lug nut at time of replacement to eliminate the issue. Lots of good ones around. You have to be a bit careful the the style works with your wheel is all but stop in and I can help. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Don’t know why car manufacturers still use the capped style nuts anymore but they do on quite a few vehicles. Such a pain in the ass!
My '21 lariat with 502a will be here this week!

For the new 21s rolling with the 2.7 - I know I’ve read it was a carryover engine with the same specs, but did Ford retune it in anyway?
Better midrange power, better sport response etc.
One salesbro told me it has more power for ‘21, but he didn’t understand he was talking to an enthusiast who takes numbers srs.

Not that it matters in this context, but speaking of tunes, I am working with a local tuner for a basic 2.7 tune for 87 octane for the 2018+ trucks. Gets rid of torque management shenanigans, doesn't overfuel as much under boost like it does from the factory, autostop removed, slight adjustments so the transmission doesn't do dumb things. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Looking pretty promising so far. Only real concern is cat temps, but I was just under there and seriously am considering removing them.
Buy aftermarket lugs. The ones from ford are very problematic and swell up after a while, especially if using an impact gun on them.
I hate you. Congrats! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
