One thing I absolutely hate about the new truck is the mirrors, they seem so wide compared to the previous gen. Didn't quite notice this until started parking in underground parking downtown. Also the A/C doesn't seem to blow as cold as the previous gen. But... im nitpicking here lol
Funny- i had the opposite gripe about the '15-'20 generation; the [non-tow] mirrors felt significantly smaller than my 2013's mirrors, and i really miss the loss of the blind spot mirror. BLIS is okay but didn't reduce the need for a good convex mirror imo. Biggest regret with this spec is not going tow mirrors.

Edit: also frustrating to move to tow mirrors aftermarket since each mirror is $1000+

Is the Maverick an off-roader, or just a gravel road machine? Guess the smallest off-roader is the Ranger?

you can put an FX4 package onto the Lariat, but you can't get a hybrid 4x4, just the front-wheel drive

sounds like a question for your dealer sales representative. but yeah my guess would be $500. usually dealers have given me the option of up to $3000 deposit on CC; i'd probably keep it as low as you can

    Dont put a downpayment period.

With all the unknowns, you have no idea when your truck will arrive, and you may decide to cancel the whole thing.

Dealer shouldnt have any issue, as the truck will sell quickly whether you take it or not.

Exactly this. Factory ordered last summer that I never followed through and never put a downpayment. Sales guy told me to just factory order since they have none of what I want and if it doesn't work out they can easily find a buyer.

dropped by Denham Ford on Friday... had a Maverick/Ranger/F-150 all next together.

Immediately look at them, at first Glance the Maverick looks sharp, but in the line up the F150 is the only one that looks like "real truck" next to a compact and a toy. I actually don't see a "ton" of utility with the Ranger's Box and even less so with the Maverick.

The Maverick is incredibly small.. like a sub-compact size with a ity bity tiny "Box" which even with the tailgate down is still going to be limited on how long something can be held in there.

The Maverick is much lower compared to the Ranger and ultimately useless in terms of ground clearance.

We'll see how this vehicle pans out, as basically its just an Alternative trunk configuration to a Escape/Bronco sport, and with even "Less" interior space I don't think it hits the mark.

I think the Ranger/Maverick should have been an almagamation offering different derivatives off a common platform. "i.e. off-road" version to a cheap subtle subtle City, option

The S-10 in the day was like that of the F150... Offering different cab (crew/ext) offerings, different box lengths, different suspension purposes and different motors... from a 2.4 to a 4.3

If I'm not mistaken they had an SS, ZR2, etc..

I'm not saying that it sould be a traditional body on frame truck, but the maverick defiantely won't "Truck" well nor will it "SUV" or "Car" well.

Its too small to compete with Pilot, and I think its not "enough" SUV to compete with the new Santa Cruz

Seem to have come nearly full circle, and now looking at 1Ts after checking out truck campers on saturday. HDPP would easily carry a pop up and the shittier hard sides, but not a lot of room for future growth.. Can get a similarly outfitted couple year old XLT diesel 350 for the same price as a new F150 HDPP XLT 301a. Anything i should be going out of my way to see when seeing these trucks? Never bought a diesel before

Have I been harping on the lower capital and ownership costs of the gas engines enough? Cause, you know, they are cheaper to buy, and cheaper to own for us weekend warriors.....

I put 32k a year on my Tacoma so might come out pretty flush with diesel cost.

you might then. If that's all loaded or hauling that camper, then you probably would. Diesel is so nice too, just expensive, and I think I've a well documented cheapass.

But if you can get a pretty much similar 1T for the same price as a F150.... Thats the one major downfall of the HDPP, is that it is basic AF

ha, just got a 'we'll give you 3k off, but no cash purchases'. Dealers these days.. Like that would stop a cash purchaser from just paying it off at first payment
