After having drove around with my SCT BDX programmer with 5star tunes, highly recommend and wish I had done it sooner.

Shifts like you would expect an auto to, hits a peak of 18psi on 87octane, torque converter lockup timing really helps with less clunks and bangs and generally smoother operation.

Even got rid of the dreaded "push under braking" that afflicts these trucks, drove me nuts.

Going to try the E50 tune at the dragstrip on Friday hopefully, I'm told almost 450whp.
Hated the 5* so much I sold my tuner even. Driveability on the truck was terrible tuned I found, no matter what octane program I chose (I had 3) and ran. Had them recompile the tunes a couple times as they F'd up the first one and my grill shutters never opened, and then I randomly shit a wastegate solenoid, and then just found the truck drove like ass.

I think the small number of people with issues are "taking one for the team" so the rest of us can drive trouble free.

Gotta Remember, Internet forums are not a random sample. People who post about issues are the very definition of selection bias. It's overall a very reliable truck, you will love yours @spikerS .

Might have had more to do with your truck then the tune it sounds like. Then again, some people like the way they drive stock. Why they do, I have no idea, but different strokes.

Anyone on here with a F150 hybrid?

If I get a new truck I have to get rid of commuter car, thinking hybrid might be the right solution to handle towing camping trailer in summer and still keeper fuel economy good for driving 80km round trip to work on weekdays.

I've been looking at the same but there's some concerns I have in regards to the switch from battery to gas and then the braking feel apparently is terrible, waiting for @spikerS to give his review!

The other consideration I'm trying to decide on is the payload, for most Powerboost trucks it seems to be ~1500lbs. My trailer has a hitch weight of 700 so that leaves 800 for people and gear so it means I'm not leaving a whole bunch of capacity to be packed in the truck. Moving to the ecoboost gives me ~2000lbs of payload which seems a little more comfortable.

Those batteries eat into payload no matter what. I maintain that the hybrid is a poor choice for towing anything but a tent trailer.

    Agreed.
Losing the 136L fuel tank is a big deal breaker for towing.

I hope so. Some super minor shipping damage happened though. waiting for them to find replacement parts, but I am hoping I can pick it up on Saturday.

the Payload isn't that big of a concern for towing, you just have to pack the trailer a little more careful to maintain balance. Unless you are putting a popup camper or something in your truck.

Yes, losing the 136L tank is a bit of a blow. but, when you are towing, you would almost be exclusively using the 3.5L EB engine, so your towing numbers won't be any worse, but you might have one extra fuel stop on your trip. and for the amount of times the average joe blow goes camping versus the fuel savings the hybrid offers... well, I just don't think it's an issue.

The lightning on the other hand, that's where the big changes are gonna be noticed.

Everything is a trade off when you gave a truck for towing only a few days a year.

Last 2 pics are of the "shipping damage". I wasn't going to worry about it and try and fix it myself, but when I heard it is $1700 for a mirror... I figured I would let them do it on someone else's dime.

lol, it's not delivered yet. They are replacing the whole mirror, it is going to be cleaned and detailed. That was taken as it got delivered to the dealer from the rail yard, and the damage was found.

I am hoping to be able to pick it up on Saturday, but, might not be until next week, they still need to find a new mirror.

No kidding…and any negatives of the wait will go away once @spikerS starts enjoying it!
