Was cruising home from Calgary up to the Edmonton area over the weekend, staying with traffic @ 135. Truck readout was giving me 10.6L/100. I thought that was pretty good.

    2021 full crew 2.7

    Thats pretty darn good.

I would be over 12, maybe even 13 at those speeds with the 3.5L.

To get your numbers in my 3.5 I would probably be under 110.

I always keep an eye on mileage but it is what it is. Lifetime of the truck shows 12.5 or something like that. It's mostly driven around town.

Just over 11k kms always 87 fuel, haven't even had my first oil change yet

Very happy with the 2.7 for my usage.

Friend of mine just purchased a holiday trailer, roughly 6k dry weight I think. Said the truck towed it well, don't recall how fuel was but I think their first trip was out towards Revy, so it would've been a good test.

I'll probably see him in the next few days, I can get more solid info then.

Anyone know if the "soundscreen" glass in my 2020 XLT 302A is any different or better than the generic glass? Or if the Front collison camera needs special glass or calibration? Got a crack basically right in front of my face. Probably can't leave that one too long.
We put a Generic windscreen in my F-I-Ls '17 Limited...absolutely no difference that we could notice, no calibration of forward collision was needed

It might make a difference to someone who's ear was tuned to listen for the perfection of sound from listening to Handels Messiah, but for a guy in his late 50's who listens to rock n roll and country there's been no complaints

Nurses who put their overtime money into a Bronco rather than a Jeep Wrangler, then idling them for hours at a time in the winter to warm them up before driving 5 minutes through town to work?

Put 95k kms on my 2.7 before I sold it.

I would bet at least 30k kms of that had a trailer or heavy payload in the bed.

It was fantastic, even towed a dump trailer and skidsteer quite often, which was... Quite a bit over its rating (figure 11k total weight).

Mpg is terrible towing anything with wind resistance (enclosed or travel trailer) or really heavy. But will have zero issues towing anything you throw at it. When towing at max weight (2020 was 9k lbs, 2021+ is 10k), I locked it to top out in 7th gear.

Towing really heavy, I locked it in 6th.

P-rated tires while rated for the weight are god awful to tow with. If you are towing, you need LT tires on these light trucks IMO.

it is pretty amazing that the F150 w/ the HD package which is really what... other than the max tow, a more stout rear end up (7 bolt but not float axel) and leaf/shock, can actually do quite a bit of real "Truck" work without needing to go to a true Heavy Duty Frame and driveline

My old truck ate 2 ring & pinion sets using a HD package F-150 for actual work duties. Just brought my new one home today, have been waiting since September.

Apparently they went away from the 7 bolt axles. My 2.7 had a hd payload package which theoretically was good for 2100lbs on a stripper model. My 4x4 supercab xlt was 1900lbs.

I don't have any particular comparison, definitely isn't a full floater in strength. On 3.5's with the same axle, up to 2700lb payload rating.

I'd rather use the rear end for outright towing vs actual in box payload 4sho

My biggest complaint wasn’t even with the rear axles failures, it was with the truck brakes being so damn weak. Ford was out and out lying about the payload rating if the truck won’t stop without relying on 5000 rpm engine braking all day. (I do think Ford’s transmission tuning on the 6-speeds is excellent)
