What I really want is the ecoboost in the F250. Does that make me demented? Possibly.
At our elevation turbos make a lot of sense over n/a v8s in every sense except glorious noiseThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just turbo v8, quit messing around. Or market it as siamese turbo inline 4 if that makes it sound economical and green. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I drive a Tacoma, the interior isn’t that important, it’s more that if I was gonna drop 60K on a new truck it better be kinda skookumThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

agreed... the utility of the 6.2, 6.8 and 7.3 (though has roller issues) requires a very stout bottom end. That said, why not light-turbo one for the purpose of more consistent torque curve and air density loss? - maybe more effort than its worth. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I'm now at 250K on my 1st gen eco w/o any timing chain replacement (no issues yet... touch wood) - I did have issues with the oil return line, which was costly but overall the internals of the motor are still untouched and within parameters as per their last calibration check.
I change my oil every 5K km with full synth... touch wood I can keep it running for another hundy.
also 80% of the mileage is unloaded highway driving.
