I’ve had two aluminum body F150s have 4x4 work under warranty now, one 15 with 65k and one 16 with 40k both Lariats. Both trucks had both front wheel bearings and axle shafts replaced because of a vibration felt through the controls that comes and goes in 2WD but goes away when shifted into 4x4.
This is interesting. I've got about 25k on my Lariat and have been suspecting something is up with the front driveline, been getting mild vibration in 2wd while turning left.

Hasn't been consistent or obvious enough for me to take a service writer for a drive, but it's gratifying to know I'm not imagining it at least.

Seems fairly common online, found tons of people complaining about the same feeling on forums.

It will get worse over time. Take it to a tight, underground parking lot, and open your windows. Easy way to diagnose the IWE issues these trucks get.

That’s totally it- tight turns in a specific direction.

Didn't go back in the thread to see if anyone caught this one yet.

Sync 3 non-nav, update 3.0. You get a MEM-ERR03 if you try to upgrade from 2.2+, which is what my truck shipped with.

Update has to be manually done for whatever reason, it did not update over WiFi. I had to search for a fix for the MEM-ERR03 error and basically found that the update itself is too large for the 8GB memory available in the Sync 3 non-nav system. Anyway, the solution is to downgrade the voice module to a previous version, which is 30% the size of the new one, and then run the 3.0 upgrade.

No help from Ford on this one, I suspect if I messaged them for help they would tell me to visit the nearest dealer.

Rundown here - https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/thr....100437/page-2 - (post #31) is easier to find than the F150 forums post they refer to.

Trying the update on my way home, hopefully it works because the bug is such a waste of time.

I've got a 2014 FX-4 which I brought brand new and have been having issues with my Sync since I bought it. It seems like its always changing settings on me. For example my background will erase itself every couple of weeks, every other day my passenger and driver side temp control aren't synced, my satellite radio will turn off alerts or change from "replay" mode to regular mode. I took it in a few times to Metro For but they reflashed it but they could never recreate the issues. Checking on Ford's website it looks like I have the latest firmware.

Anyone else ever have similar issues?

My guess is it's probably an issue with the APIM. you're probably at the point where it's not worth spending the cash to replace it. Do your radio station presets get deleted as well?

I don't know about the FM radio stations but the SIRIUS XM channels don't get deleted.

Truck goes in for the seatbelt fire recall and my heated/cooled seat fan sounds like it blew a bearing. anyone else find their seats to be excessively noisy?

I can definitely hear the fan when the cool cycle is on but its not a bad sound or anything. My only complaint is the seats dont cool worth a damn and according to the f150 forums theyre not called cooled anymore and are now called ventilated. I had them turned on this summer and it was so weak my wife asked me to turn hers on lol FWP

I know alot of people have had troubles with the cooling, mine definitely cool decently. That said, I preferred the vacuum vented seats in my Jeep more than the cooled air seats in the Ford. I find that they just work better, less "cool spots", more even.

Anyone have the power running boards? If so how are they holding up?

I have heard they improved in the recent years, but I have heard plenty of stories about them just stop working, or get jamed up with ice in the cold weather

That makes sense because mine get some pretty good ice build up(still come down though) but i could never just leave them up all winter. I could probably make do with no running boards but my wife and kids couldn't.

I'm in the same boat. Have the power running boards and definitely have concerns about them but so far they've been fine, i'm tempted just to lock them in the down position for the winter though.
