Calgary BMW got sick of all the battery issues on X5s and dealership installs a charger in every X5 now.... i have no idea what it is as it was installed when we got our x5 but it is wonderful as you just plug it in and walk away.

I have not plugged in a block heater in 30 years and has never been an issue with modern oils... battery is always the issue in the cold.

Battery trickle charger with a stick on oil pan heater is the ultimate fool-proof solution for us poor people that park outside.

Circulating coolant heaters will even keep your windshield half cleared if you turn the vehicle off in the defrost setting. Well older ones anyway, new vehicles do all kinds of crazy hvac shit after you stop the engine so not too sure about those.

Not sure I want to add more coolant leak points with aftermarket products just to slightly increase my comfort in the first minutes of driving.

Oil or coolant heaters are wicked but wild overkill. Honestly even a block heater isn't needed, the battery tender is probably the only thing "needed".

What will consume more power, a trifecta of block heater, oil pan heater and battery tender OR charging your tesla overnight?

Well the battery tender uses milliamps after the first hour or so. And it'd be stupid to run a pan or block heater all night.

So that's a stupid question unworthy of contemplating.

Considering Tesla charging people are rocking 30-60A charging systems, the answer seems… obvious

Recall was performed - that was why it was in the shop, b/c they'd smushed so much dielectric grease on the recall-replacement block heater cord it was shorting to ground.

From being assigned a build week to delivery what is the estimated time period in normal circumstances?

From the build week to delivery is like 2-4 week I think normally? Now, these days, i have no idea, you have trucks not getting built on their assigned weeks, and some not getting shipped as quickly.

Hey anyone have their F150 in for "the works" at the dealership recently and can scan and send me the paperwork you get? Like the "83 point inspection" sheet? Would greatly appreciate it.

Dielectric grease is non-conductive and shouldn’t be directly on electric connectors, just the seal on a connector. I suspect you have other issues, like they didn’t replace your failing cord. Just greased the shit out of everything.

Saw a Maverick on the road today. Bigger than I thought they'd be. Was expecting something the size of a ranger.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Aren't they supposed to be smaller than Rangers? Or bigger? I don't even know which segment they are focusing on with Mavericks.
