    2 bottles?!?!?
Yes I should have looked up more detailed instructions then what was on the bottle. I am not happy with the results.

Didn't know that the issue can occur on the V8s as well.
I thought it was exclusive only to the 3.5L V6.
3.5L V6 has the timing chain rattle (my last truck 2011 EB had this issue) vs cam phasers on the V8

TSB for 5.0L is here: https://www.tsbsearch.com/Ford/18-2354

"Some 2018 f-150 vehicles equipped with a 5.0l engine may exhibit an engine rattle noise during a deceleration tip-out throttle maneuver from 1500 rpm to 800 rpm and/or during an acceleration tip-in throttle maneuver around 2000 rpm"

Small update, up to 23,000kms now. Zero issues, mpg average over 23k kms is down to 12.1L/100km. I think the truck is very, very sensitive to wind when it comes to mpg. On a perfectly still day last week, I did 9.5L/100km average all day on the highway. Right now that it is fully winter, struggling to do better than 12L/100km.

Stock tires are hilariously awful in the winter, getting studded winters this week/next week.

Transmission seems to be less dumb lately, 20k kms seems ridiculous to finish learning but who knows.

I'm really appreciating the truck, especially in the winter. Hop in and go, zero issues is wonderful. Would be interested if anyone has any speaker upgrade suggestions, Chevy's Bose system strikes me as being a better sound, at least to my ears.

best video I've seen about Gen 1 Ecoboost https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOBsDgdUEyM

guy I know who runs a fleet of these (25+) has seen an avg of 300+K km on highway driven ecoboosts (ranging from 2012 to 2016) - but ensures they are oil changed at every 8K interval with some bulk synthetic and basic filters they use

I think the blow-by of the motor, fuel dilution is the biggest issue even though we know Ford sucks at designing VCT.

For Gen 1 motors, people I know who drilled out the IC, change their oil frequently using even motocraft semi-synth, plug in the truck - haven't really had any issues.

Nah. I’d go 400/500 3.5L this time. It’s just too much power to ignore.

I am taking that a step further. I am going for the 502A package with the hybrid setup. Still get the 3.5L EB, but only costs an additional $2k for the EV portion.

    That’s like a 72-75k truck /sadface

But definitely, that’s as full load as I’d ever need!

yeah, but with incentives (when they are good) brings it down to a $58-61K truck which is good. Won't be there for a bit as dealers always mark the new MY trucks up for the first few months. I remember when the last refresh happened, there was ZERO discounts to be had.

I keep finding features my 302A has that I didn't know about. Had some ice on the window the other day and it told me pre-collision assist wasn't available. Huh, didn't know that was there.

It's on every 2019 and newer trucks, regardless of trim level as a standard feature. Might even be MY18 and newer.

Finished install of my noco 2d onboard charger. Will run a timer overnight through the winter to have block heater and charger from 4-9am. Probably won't bother plugging it in when it's mild out.
Only tricky bit is you have to run a cord past the intercooler shutters, but as long as you cut the end of the cord off, there's a drain hole that you can thread through. Then zip ties and plug right beside the battery.

Are Ford AGM batteries happy when they are constantly full?

Ford AGM batteries actually have a reputation for being poor quality to start with. Don't know if this strategy really gains me much in terms of battery lifespan, but as I've proven elsewhere in this forum, I have an unhealthy fascination with charging batteries. It's a weird hobby, but well, here we are.

It'll make me happy knowing the charger is running.

Also though, that thought process was part of the reason I chose the Noco 2d charger. It's a low amp unit that isn't likely to fully charge, or overcharge the battery in 3-6 hours. Although it being a smart charger, it shouldn't overcharge in any case.
