Has anybody found a good replacement for the two piece lug nuts? A bunch of mine are swollen and it’s getting bad enough I should really replace them instead of just saying I will and then forgetting about it for another 6 months. I’m hoping to find some decent one piece replacements that a) don’t rust up after a year of use and b) have a seating surface similar in size to the OEM lugs (some of the aftermarket offering I’ve come across seem to have a greatly reduced seating surface area which perhaps isn’t that big of a deal but still doesn’t sit well with me).
I picked up a set of Dorman close ended ones off Rock Auto for <$4 per. But I also hear the Gorilla ones are awesome.

Yeah I carry the Gorilla OEM Ford type in both black and chrome. Solid all the way through. So much better than the capped type!

How long have you been running them? Have you had any rusting issues? I was looking at those a while back but am a bit uncertain of doorman quality based on some past parts purchased. For that price I might roll the dice though.

My co-worker finally got his ‘22 F-150 Powerboost back. Truck is at 30,000km, was in the garage for 82 days and they performed 9 pages of repairs and recalls on it. Ford gave him a 200,000km bumper to bumper warranty now, I told him good luck. Haha

Yes. Should just cover his rental replacement vehicles over the next 170,000km.

I’m having issues with this 3.5EB F150 overheating on the highway today between Beaumont and Calgary. Damn grill shutters are all iced up.

I don't know what normal water temps are. Am I supposed to track that?

Gotta say your life is not typical for all owners. You drive vehicles, long distances, that were recently sold, which as a subset, is the most problematic grouping. Buncha owners who were sick of their trucks.

Normal water temps for most vehicles are 90-100 or so. The 2015+ Fords with the digital gauges warn you when the water temp hits 110 and above. I get to see the worst of the worst, I complain a lot about Dodges too.

I forgot to update you all. Truck spent 2 days at Metro Ford. They said that they could not replicate the issue but that they recommend always engaging the parking brake regardless of parking on an incline or not lol

Universal also let me down today but I wont comment on the issue just yet as I picked up the truck with the rebuilt 7.3L engine (Ford back peddled and did not supply the originally promised brand new engine) and I drove it right back 15 min later.... Will see what they come up with now.

My buddy that can’t get his started, that has had the lead frame replaced in the transmission is now getting the transmission valve body replaced. Apparently there is a shortage of lead frames, the valve body has it included and the mechanic thinks it’s something in the valve body. $2300 to do the job after spending $2000 last summer to do the job.
Got his truck back yesterday, took it home and this morning it didn’t start. Back to the dealership, at least it’s their time to tow it.

I put them on last year with my winters so they spent a season in crappy weather and salt. So far so good, no rust or discolouration beyond what you would expect. For the price I think they were worth it. I didn't know about Gorilla at the time or I would have got them but I am happy so far given I paid like $3/per lug

Got my replacement lug nuts from tirebob.
I just wish I got the chrome instead of black.

I have open ended ones from tirebob. I should probably pick up some closed ones, since I slapped the stock wheels back on.
Also dropped the truck off for round 3 of "can they figure out how to update the Headunit"
I even left a sticky note with the TSB number on the HVAC unit, to see if it helps.

Thankfully nothing is technically broken with the truck, just OTA updates are disabled, and I want the extra functionality from the newer updates.
