. I just want a 5l lariat for the price of a 3l xl. Is that too much to ask?
No, but there is an extra step in between you'll have to do. Sell/turn in current truck, by some shittier vehicle at the bottom of its depreciation curve, drive it for 6-12 months, then buy when the flood of returns/interest rates/inflation have destroyed everyone else's purchasing power and go hunting for a serious deal.

If you got a 2020 truck though, hate to say you are never seeing a deal like that again even with discounts. F150's are up $8-$11k minimum on lowered end models from 2020 to 2021 model year. Those new prices will stick, especially with almost 10% inflation for two years in a row factored in.

Not sure a few hundred or a thousand 2 year old trucks in Alberta is going to crash the market. Still a massive shortage of trucks out there. But who knows. I think you can at least hand back the keys without issue, right? Lease math is confusing to me
Technically yes. You can just hand the keys back at the end, and walk away. I plan on buying mine out and keeping it. Seems smarter than turning around and buying a brand new Ridgeline or other 1/4 ton, since I only plan on hauling dirtbikes.

Seems like a nightmare to find a replacement vehicle right now, so probably just won’t

I don't think you're allowed to park there.

All joking aside, are you okay?

Yeah, my body has been through worse… I think I have a little ptsd though. Pretty unnerving when the airbags go off and you’re still moving. Initial impact was a car that turned in front of me (me, straight through the green, them, turning left) then the pole stopped me. Thank Christ the sidewalk was empty as that’s usually a busy area

Get yourself checked out! Nothing like lingering issues with the back/neck.

damn @ercchry - hope you're alright after that!

Any short box 8th gen ('15-'20) beyonders want a serviceable tri-fold bakflip tonneau cover? The latch assemblies have fallen off the first two sections but with an hour's time and some self-tappers or epoxy, you'd be good-as-new, I suspect. I opted to buy a new cover.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at a case of beer for it; but let's call it free to a good home.

My plan is to trade the F150 for a Tacoma. Already have one ordered for Sept delivery. Only hesitation now is finance rates, they're at 7% with Toyota now. Might end up cancelling and going with a Ranger or Frontier purely because I can use my employee discount(and finance rates seem to be cheaper).

    Edit: Nevermind, they're at 4.89%
Bold move. I went the opposite, and although i enjoyed my tacoma its not even remotely close to being as good in terms of cabin room, comfortability, usefulness, fuel efficiency, tech, features... it's just overall a better truck than the taco. Im doing noticeably better mileage on the f150 than a smaller taco. I mean come on toyota, do better.

You can't fire me... I already quit!

I actually would have gotten another F150 but they dropped the diesel engine I really wanted, and then I found a baby Duramax was only like a 2k bump versus the gasser. Ended up getting way more truck for my money and with what they gave me trade in on my super high KM 2017 F150 5.0L I couldn't justify the deal Ford was offering. On top of that, I have a Chev dealership connection with the General Manager and was fortunate to snag a truck that was pre-ordered a while back and is on route and not claimed. Hoping to have it in my hands in the next couple weeks.

I think some ‘22 were manufactured with the old interior. Something really weird happened on the assembly line.

I think it was done to keep production numbers in check. It’s odd.

    Edit: here we are:

The all-new 2022 Silverado interior is standard on LT trim levels and above (LT Trail Boss, RST, ZR2, LTZ, High Country). However, any 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 trim levels below LT (Work Truck, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss) will retain the 7-inch center stack display and 3.5-inch vehicle information display, as they did prior to the refresh.

Hopefully you have a high spec model.
