Thought I'd mention here that I did finally set up the "pro trailer backup assist" on my 2020 F150. I have the style that uses stickers, I guess the newer ones have a box you tie to the trailer? Anyway, it take probably 20 minutes to set up, and then you need a really long straight stretch of road to let it calibrate (no you can't do this in a parking lot, need 500 yards or so), but it's been worth it. Very handy to be able to "steer the trailer" with the knob on the dash. Once the trailer is going the right direction, you can let go of the knob and the truck will spin the steering wheel to make the trailer go straight. Seems like magic to this guy.

Doesn't work great in dappled sunlight, as the camera can't see the sticker properly I guess. But when it works, it's great. I am glad I have it set up.

Mentioned the system in a post in the RV tips thread:

My 2022 still has stickers , i looked at the other week and said fuck it and put the stickers away... might have to buy you some beer to set mine up if it works well.

It's not difficult, just read the instructions, take the measurements, and the enter the stuff. It just takes some time. But yeah I'd help.

I'd like to start a +/- raffle on how long my rebuilt front differential will last on my '21 502A 2.7 crew. Rebuilt at ~35k kms, currently at 36k kms. I'm gonna go with 36k + 22k = 58k total kms. $5/entry. Winner takes all.

I asked about this, because both my cars are in the shop. I was told that they only give loaners via enterprise, when the work is supposed to take like a week. I got a loaner. It's the worst. It's a Dodge Ram 1500 Classic. It has a 2" screen, steelies, no running boards, cloth seats, and literally no options. Even in 2wd mode it feels like the front diff is binding, and it has to honk _every_ time you lock it. But you know, hemi.

When i dropped off for service at ford i asked about a loaner. They said they dont do that. There was a large tv display on the wall with job scheduling for the techs. The upper right corner was a section titled "loaners"

Lol, must be like the list for rolex

Some of the extra extended warranties include loaners for all services, I think. If you really need the truck for work that's one place that may pay off.

A family friends shop had a 1976 Chevy Vega as a loaner (in the 2000's), it was terrible and awesome at the same time.

When my GTI was in for work at VW, they gave me a loaner no questions asked. Little Passat from off the lot. Dealer owned. This one is a rental through enterprise. I requested an SUV or a car, and they told me I get a truck. But it's the most basic bitch. Unpainted front bumper included. I don't even have an end date for the work they're doing, and my advisor's last day was Friday.

I sincerely hope it's because he got a huge raise and title somewhere else, because he was awesome, in comparison to what I've been dealing with. When he told me he was leaving, he dropped the name of the service manager, and I suspect it's because he knew what I'd have to deal with once he left.

I tried called in on Tues for an update and got a "it's in the shop" from the most uninterested advisor I've ever talked to. She could've used at least like 8 shots of espresso because she sounded depresso.

Anyone replace the door speakers? Mine are garbage, can't even listen to podcasts without flutter. Just stock head unit, no sub, just want speakers that sound mediocre.

Interested. I wouldn’t mind an upgrade either
