Just wondering if anyone has an idea of ballpark how much negotiation room there is on a new f150 with the following specs:
    F150 XLT w/ 302a package
    5.0l v8
    Sunroof
    Fx4
    Msrp $61k
    Advertised employee discount price $48k

Is there still a big margin built into that advertised price to haggle down?

Thats a pretty good price. I think I got my 2016 for about $48k OTD, with the 3.5 and no sunroof with 302A and FX4 Sport packages.

If you want, let me know and I can hook you up with my guys. He is pretty no BS and will get you a good deal. He just got 2 of my buddies into new trucks about 2 weeks ago.

^^There was a couple guys on here that had theirs repaired but under warranty i think, i need to book my 18 in for the fucking rattle.
Taking mine in Thurs for this plus the cord recall. Had a guy stop me in a parking lot once and tell me a horror story about his truck making the same sound and having his engine block cracked/replaced over a 90 day period. Hoping this fixes the rattle/hesitation issues I'm experiencing.

just dropped mine off this morning and the SA said right away it was probably the cam phasers from my quick description. He said it was a major repair and would need it for 3 days so thats a bit shitty but the worst part is ive heard guys having it repaired and the sound coming back almost immediately. Im also having the heater cord done and theres a lovely rattle in my sunroof again.

When I took mine in I told the SA that I have an engine rattle on start-up that goes away once the engine is running and that it only happens on cold start-ups.
That's all I needed to say and the SA told me he know what I'm talking about and had my truck booked.
Hope it doesn't come back because my truck is now out of warranty.

I said pretty much the same as above but mine went away within about a second or 2, I watched some videos and it was way longer. Got the confirmation its needing new cam phasers and parts are on order.

Ugh. Same description but now I've heard of three different potential solutions.

I've been going to Advantage Ford. Can't say enough good about them so far, hopefully they pull this one off too. I'm almost at 60k now so need to get ALL my concerns taken care of.

So did they say anything about repairing it for you? I dont know if this is how ford works but ive heard stories of people getting denied their repairs because they were waiting for parts and drove past the warranty kms. If it sounds like theyre not doing much maybe try Universal ford, the SA knew right away from my description and straight up said it was the cams and thats whats getting replaced after they inspected it. Im at 45k kms now and starting to get a bit worried about my warranty running out

They ended up having my truck for a week due to waiting for parts, was initially supposed to be there for 2 days only.
As soon as I heard the noise I took it to Universal right away. I just left my truck there and got a loaner.

Looks like they were waiting on the timing parts, but I'm getting the whole repair with cams. They lost me in terms but it's a three day repair and it sounds like they're doing a lot of them.

Glad to hear they already have you booked for the repair. I remote started my truck today while i was outside and heard it for the first time not in my truck and it sounded so bad.

I wouldn't have known about it if some random dude hadn't stopped me in the parking lot to tell me about it. This should be a recall.

I've had engine hesitation and I feel like it's not performing as well as when I bought it, so I would have taken it in anyway but without specific info other than "it feels different".

Has anyone dealt with the timing chain stretch issue? TSB 18-2305 is the newest iteration of it. Basically its a loud rattle lasting 2-5 seconds on a cold start. Surprise surprise it started happening to me 7,000km out of warranty and I'm looking at a 4k repair bill as they have to replace the timing chain, tensioner kit, and all four VCT units according to the TSB. Almost makes a guy want to trade it in, but increasing the amount of time I'd have payments for makes me sick to my stomach.

I think I was one of the first people ever to have this. They ripped my truck down to the block. Glad I traded it in.

Ford dealer and Ford Canada's response was shit also, so that helped. But yeah that was a demon truck even the remote start was picky as shit. The timing to hit the buttons was millisecond picky.

Went ahead and ordered the bilstein 5100 rear shocks for my truck. Installed them both sides in under an hour on my driveway. Wow what a difference. No more hopping, chattering, or overall discomfort. Best decision I ever made. Will be able to test them out when I head to the girlfriends grandparents for Thanksgiving. So far nothing but great things to say.

That was my biggest complaint about my 2016 XLT. the rear end would constantly jump out of line when hitting larger road seams, and was a rougher ride. I was chaulking it up to being the FX4 package and was planning on putting those bilsteins in. But then I got the new truck and just opted to NOT get the FX4 package, and it made all the difference.
