People also seem to think lariat 502A is a base truck. That's part of the reason for price increase

    Sure is.... In Aspen

People scoff at the Limited trim here.

It essentially is. XL and XLT trims are a tough buy when for not much more incrementally you get a much nicer truck.

saw the reveal on FB, and the new gen has some features I really liked. Unfortunately, they are probably going to be on the trims I can't afford.

Things like the flat work surface, and the horizontal front seats. Those would be great if I could get it in a Lariat 502A. but, TBH, I don't think the new truck is a vast, or even big improvement over the current gen. And in the reveal, they didn't mention power plants at all, so I am kinda disappointed there too.

Ford doesn't normally release new engines the same year as the new truck. 1-3 years apart is normal

    I get $46,119 for XLT 302A
    $52,099 For Lariat 501
    $55,439 For Lariat 502

All of them with 4x4 and 2.7.

Ford is very smart with their structure. The XLT 300 and 301 don't even have heated seats. Then you get up to 302 and you get those but still have no keyless access or auto climate. So yeah I can see how a lot of people end up with a Lariat once they actually start looking how they have laid out these trims. Sitting in a Lariat right after an XLT is a big difference IMO, especially when it comes to seat materials.

To complicate things Ford often has different incentives on different trims and residuals also play a role for those who choose to lease. So sometimes it's only like $50 biweekly difference in payment to step up.

I mussed have missed it in the video, but I found a few more features, namely built in generators, a 2400 watt and a 7200 watt generator option. That is pretty sweet! makes off grid camping nicer as you can still fire up an AC unit with the larger one.

Also, they are introducing a hybrid setup with a 1.5kw battery. That might have me going to take a look! not year one, but maybe for 2022.

Yeah 20A AC power in the bed is pretty neat.

Like the new styling in the front. Interior looks like a pretty big step up. Same engines as today plus a very light hybrid option.

While everyone is stoked about the new 2021 truck coming out, I'm pretty happy with my 2020 coming in.

As mentioned previously, $40.5k+gst out the door. Has every option I could care for, and some I don't (really didn't want the power rear window and the tailgate step).

But otherwise, its about as perfect of a F150 I could get without doing a factory order. Pick it up Monday.

Getting booked in for a polish, ceramic coat, and 3m. Going to get the entire hood, bumper, and front fenders done. Then rockers, inside kick panels, and the rear fender lips.

Next step is sell off the factory 18's and get either 20 or 22's. Remove/sell running boards. Then a 2/4 lower. Then finally swap the XL black mesh front grille.

And then drive the thing into the ground over the next 10 years.

    Nice truck!

FWIW, you will totally change your mind about the tail gate step. I felt the same way about it when I got mine, and now I love it. I don't want to get a truck without it.

Keep those 18's around for a few months for me. Or maybe just sell them to me. Seems crazy to buy wheels before I have a truck they fit on, but I'm feeling crazy these days, and I'm all about dat sidewall life.

Found on another site confirmation that this is truly a "new" truck and not just a cosmetic refresh. Track is wider, all the sheetmetal is new. I always have a hard time believing marketing material, so nice that some skeptical folks out there did the digging for us.

Will be interesting to hear about any NVH improvements, because honestly, that seems to be better every generation, and it's been very good since 2004

A bunch of shit will still carry over. They do it all the time. Tow mirrors from the 11th Gen fit on the 12th Gen and vice versa.

The brakes are the same on the 11th, 12th and 13th gen. I wouldn't be surprised if they carry over to this truck as well. I guess if it works...

Oh sure, there's parts commonality. That's probably a bigger benefit than a detriment though. Going all-new leads to horrific issues, or just incredibly long cycle times.

Make me an offer I can't refuse? Haven't looked into how much they are worth. PM me if you want.

Will go down to a nice aftermarket 17 for winter tires. So no real need for the 18's.

not sure about that with the max tow package. I am not sure 17s will clear the caliper and rotors. IIRC 18s are the minimum, but I might be mistaken.

So looking through the pictures and I noticed the shifter tucks into the center console? That seems a little odd, does it not? Or am I missing something?

Definitely some slick tech on the new F150. Wasn't all that surprised they didn't talk powertrains, guessing the new V8 will be next year. I do hope that you can get the 3.5HO in other trims as an option but didn't see any info on that. Nice to see the 10 speed across the board, and that on board generator is quite the idea. Maybe the Hybrid will be available come next year when I'm miled out.
